It is with hurting hearts that we announce the passing of Mary McKinney. She was a life member of the auxiliary, but more importantly, she was a spit-fire with a heart of gold who was always there for all of us. She helped where ever and however she could, and always had a kind word and listening ear for anyone that needed it. Mrs Mary was a dear friend and will be missed.

Congressman Mike Ezell's office. confirmed there 🇺🇲 will 🇺🇲 be a flyover to honor 2LT Ted Scarborough, killed in action, August 1st, 1943. His remains were returned to Mississippi Tuesday evening. Following visitation at a Hattiesburg funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Friday, he will be laid to rest at his home town of Maxie, Mississippi, Saturday morning. The congressman may try to get there for the funeral if he can swing it. Special thanks go to VFW commanders Jeff Barnes of Pascagoula, and our own Jim McKinney. Aletta Butler was instrumental in getting the word out at this past weekend's District 1 meeting. VFW and Auxiliary members of Post 2132 will attend the visitation.

It’s National VFW Day! The VFW celebrates 123 years of continued service to our country this
September 29, 2022,
celebrating one of the largest and most established organization of war veterans in the United States. It is a day celebrated not only by its members at Posts throughout the country and around the world, but also by the generations of veterans, service members, their families and communities that have benefited from the continued service of our great organization.

Our post is mourning the loss of our Auxillary President, Betty McClure, who passed away on July 8th. Her funeral service will be held at noon on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Vancleave, MS. The address for the funeral home is 4901 Jim Ramsey Road, Vancleave, MS 39565. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Vancleave Holiness Cemetery.
