Look at how Lynja sits with us - very demure, very mindful.
See how he looks? Very presentable. The way Lynja acts at the adoption visit is how he acts in the home. He's not wild like other cats, Lynja is very modest. He won't sit on your lap, but he'll keep you company right beside you. He's very calm, very cutsey. 😽😽

Come down during our adoption hours to visit with this sweetie, Lynja's waiting!

**ADOPTED** **NEW ADOPTABLE** Introducing Blossom! She's a 4 month-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who is ⚡️ALL ENERGY, ALL THE TIME.⚡ Her energy is a good thing, of course - she's always ready to love and play at ludicrous speed! She's got one heck of a verticle jump, which is perfect for her to plant a kiss on your cheek from almost any height, but she would do well with a bit of puppy training so she knows when it's best to keep all four paws on the ground! 🐾🐾 If you think this pup would be a great fit for you in the fast lane, come visit Blossom during adoption hours! 🏃‍♀️🏃🏃‍♂️

**ADOPTED** James doesn't always like to play with toys, but when he does, he's gotta get some victory laps in! With a happy little trot, he says, "Look! This is mine!" 😊 What would make this even better, though, is if he could do a victory lap inside his new furever home! If you think James is the pup for you, stop by during our adoption hours to meet this handsome boy! 🐕‍🦺

**ADOPTED!** ⭐️Special adoption fee: $50⭐️ Our lovely little lady Lagunitas (try saying that five times fast) is still looking for her furever home! She's been a KCAC resident for 109 days - Lagunitas has seen the changing of seasons and she's hoping that spring will finally be her moment to shine! 🌼🌸🌺 Lagunitas has been a wonderful office cat and we love having her around, but she deserves a home she can call her own and put down roots. She's an independent kitty and needs a single-animal household, but she'll quickly bloom into the best companion you could ask for with just a little TLC! ❤

Look at this cutie-patootie! ❤

Ser Pounce Halloween
**ADOPTED!!** Ser Pounce is feline spooky today and wants to show off his 🎃killer🎃 playing skills! Our feisty tuxedo-wearing boy has been with us for 131 days! He's a favorite amongst our shelter staff, but Ser Pounce would much rather haunt the halls of his furever home, hunting for any ghosts (toys) and ghouls (treats) that might lurk in the shadows. He isn't keen on sharing his hunting grounds with other animals, but he would love a human that can keep up with his ghost-busting habits! Is there anything he can do to purr-suade you to come in and give him a chance? 🙀 Song credits: "Michael Myers Halloween Theme Song" by R-Piano

It is finally feeling like summer! Finn, Venus, Peppy, Serena, and the rest of the pups at the shelter spent the day playing outside. After they were all tuckered out, they settled in for some gourmet doggie ice cream. What a fun day! In honor of National Rescue Dog Day coming up this Saturday, we wanted to share some of the little ways we try to make the shelter feel more like home. Of course, nothing will ever beat a family to call their own. In the meantime, our family at KCAC will continue to spoil the animals in our care. Dorothy the Shelter Dog
171 days. 4104 hours. 246,240 minutes. No matter what units you change it to, the results are the same. DOROTHY HAS BEEN HERE WAY TOO LONG! Dorothy arrived at the shelter as a stray. She was timid, scared of everything and everyone new. During her spay, the veterinarian found that she had an untreated infection that, unfortunately, no one would have known existed from an outside glance. After some time healing and treatment, it was evident that her shy demeanor was not her true personality. She immediately perked up, started playing again, and was excited to meet new people. All she wants is someone who she can spend time with. Whether it be relaxing on the couch, going for a walk, or doing laundry (which is arguably her favorite activity here at the shelter) she will be right by your side every step of the way. Dorothy would make a great addition to any family who is looking for an only pup. She is the most loving, loyal dog, all she is missing is a place to call her own. Can you help us find her a home before she hits 200 days? For more information on Dorothy or to schedule an appointment please give the shelter a call at 630-232-3555.

What a great day for zoomies! Sadie wanted to take the time to show off her moves. She knows they will come in handy when she finally gets to play with her new family. Think you can keep up with her? Give us a call at 630-232-3555 to schedule an appointment.

After 124 days hanging out here at the shelter, Sheba is still just as goofy as ever. She is trying to learn about the world one experience at a time. Yesterday that experience was a dandelion fluff! If you are interested in helping Sheba learn about the world around her and give her a furever home please give us a call at 630-232-3555. It may not be a breeze at first, but she can guarantee the snuggles and laughs will be worth it!
