WHOLE HOUSE REMODEL | REVISIT ... Our clients wanted to update their main level to reflect their taste and develop a focal point and conversational piece using a 600 gallon fish tank. We refinished the doors in the foyer and replaced the existing tile at the entrance. Throughout the entire space, we added crown molding and replaced all the base and casings. Support poles were all wrapped and trimmed to match the woodwork in the space. Walls were painted in neutral warm tones to let the added architectural details shine. https://hubs.la/Q02N44QN0

⭐Here we are...It's Thursday again and we are exactly 1️⃣ month away from BEI's 65th Anniversary Celebration! Today we're stepping back in time to take a look at another iconic Batavia building!

🎯Riverside Commons comprises a whole city block located at 2-8 W. Wilson Street. Previously known as the "Van Nortwick Block" this building was constructed in 1888 by the Van Nortwick brothers, William S. and John M.

📝The building seems to have been the headquarters for a number of the Van Nortwick family business endeavors including the Van Nortwick Paper Company, Appleton Paper & Pulp Company, Combines Locks and Paper Company and the Western Paper Bag Company.

🏫6 W. Wilson Street was a restaurant in 1891, then from 1897 to 1928 it was the location of the Batavia Post Office. After the Post Office relocated to 106 W Wilson, this space was home to Anderson Electric Shop from 1936-1940, Five Cent to Dollar Store from 1940-1943, Pinoke Johnson Menswear from 1943-1950, then multiple paint stores from 1950-1979.

🎩Next door, 4 W. Wilson was home to a dry goods store in 1891, a custom hat maker in 1907 and then, in 1916 the space was occupied by a printer.

🛍Today this building is a local hot spot! Every weekend you'll find lines out the door at Limestone Coffee & Tea where the community gets their caffeine fix. The building is also a shopping destination being the home to Red Hive Market, Paula’s Couture Consignment and Gun Barrel Coffee Inc. The upper level has been converted into residential apartments with 6 apartment units overlooking the Fox River.

BASEMENT REMODEL | REVISIT ... This walk-out basement is truly a dream-become-reality. This complete renovation starts with a fully equipped home theater, featuring tiered platforms with reclining seats. The large theater screen, mood lighting and rich dark wood creates a beautiful viewing space for any movie lover. A large on-suite bedroom was added to accommodate guests and make for comfortable stays. BATHROOM REMODEL | REVISIT ... It was time to update our client’s master bath so that it could catch up with the rest of the house design. The floor and shower tile were stripped. The tub surround, vanity and toilet were removed. A new, lighter tile flooring was laid in a herringbone pattern. The tile in the shower pan and on the walls were updated as well.
