As we transition into Spring, it seems harmonious to announce Lola’s transition into a new season as well.

It is with a plethora of emotions that I announce that Lola will be closing her doors at the end of 2024.

Sharing this information early is my way of making sure we navigate this next season together.

Although things will look exponentially different, this does not necessarily mean goodbye. Gina will continue doing hair but in a very different capacity. For some, I understand this transition will not work with your lifestyle and schedule; my sincerest apologies for that. I know many stylists in the area that do exceptional work that I can refer you to. For others, you may find this transition to actually be quite lovely as we continue on with our relationship.

Gina will be taking to the road and living a transient life, splitting her time between Mississippi, where her father lives, following her husband on his work travels, and returning to Illinois every 6 weeks. She will dedicate 3-4 days in Illinois each month to doing hair in the Tri-city area, transforming Airbnb’s into warm, cozy salon spaces.

Gina will be creating a method of contact in which she will announce the dates available as well as the location. Announcements will be made roughly 3 weeks before, and you will have the opportunity to reserve your time by pre-paying for services. You will be welcomed with arms wide open for a one-on-one, private, intimate salon service, or you can bring a friend.

Very broad strokes have been used to paint this picture; there are MANY details that will be added as we move forward. This is a whole new world full of discoveries that we can navigate together.

Gina will provide new details in every newsletter. Please don’t panic or be scared; although there are many unknowns and countless variables, we will do this together! If there is anything Lola has taught her over the past decade, it’s that we can get through anything together!

Let’s be honest and open!
Gina will be completely transparent with the details of this new adventure as they come to life. Please know that you can be transparent with her as well about your plans if you choose to transition to a new stylist. Gina wants you to be happy, no matter who is doing your hair.

Salon Closure:
Gina’s official last day will be December 19th, 2024. This decision was not made lightly and in no way reflects the quality of service or care that she has provided to each of you.

Continued Service:
Gina will continue working as normal until closing day, at which time she will return every six weeks to different locations in the Geneva area to offer haircut and color services.

Alternative Recommendations:
We understand this new setup may not work for everyone. If you prefer to find a stylist who can provide more frequent services, we are happy to recommend other talented professionals in the area who Gina believes will be a great fit for you.

Location:
Gina will rent Airbnb’s in the Geneva area to conduct all salon services. These locations will offer a warm and inviting atmosphere, providing you with a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

Invitation to Bring a Friend:
You're welcome to bring a friend or two along to make it even more enjoyable! All services will be private in a welcoming atmosphere where you can relax and have a good time with your friends. P.S. If your friends would like services, too, please ensure everyone has appointments scheduled.
