🌟 Third Grade Spotlight: The Power of Precise Communication! 🌟

Our third graders dove into a fun and insightful lab designed to teach the importance of clear and accurate communication. Using blocks, students built creative structures and then had to verbally describe their designs in detail so their partners could recreate them—without looking! 🧱👀

The results? Lots of laughter, some challenges, and a deeper understanding of how essential it is to be precise with our words. This simple yet effective activity showed just how powerful communication can be! ✨

✨ Chapel at GCA ✨

This past Friday, we held a practice Chapel service, and the energy was amazing! 🙌 Our students worshipped God with all their hearts, cheered one another on, and love filled the room. ❤️ As the Bible says, "For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:20). We truly felt His presence among us.

We’re even more excited for our next Chapel service, which will be an extra special one as we celebrate Grandparents Day! 🎉 All loved ones are welcome to join us on Friday, September 13 at 8:30 AM for this joyful celebration. We look forward to worshipping together as a community!

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our 2nd Kindergarten Teacher, Laura Krause!

My name is Laura Krause and I am so excited to be a part of Georgetown Christian Academy! I will be teaching kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year. I have worked in the past years in Georgetown ISD and Leander ISD. I am proud to be a Georgetown Eagle graduate! I attended Texas State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a certification in Early Childhood Education. I have two wonderful children and reside with my husband in Salado. I can’t wait to get to know and work with your scholar!

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our Pickleball Instructor, Coach Lydia Blaakman!

With Coach Lydia we are excited to begin GCA's 2nd year of weekly after-school Pickleball classes for kindergarten through 4th grade, starting Thursday, September 19 and running through November 21. GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our Taekwondo Instructors, Grand Master Manny & Vicky Sosa!

Meet our incredible Taekwondo instructors, Grand Master Manny & Vicky Sosa! This is GCA's 2nd year offering Taekwondo, thanks to their dedication. Twice a month, all students participate in Taekwondo during school, where they learn discipline, respect, and hard work.

We also offer after-school Taekwondo classes for our students starting September 3! 🥋

Mon/Wed for 2nd-4th graders from 3-4 PM
Tues/Thurs for Kinder-1st graders from 3-4 PM

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our Operations and Staff Development leader, Sam McCutchen!

We are thrilled to welcome Sam McCutchen as our new Operations and Staff Development leader at Georgetown Christian Academy! In addition to supporting our faculty, Sam will also be overseeing campus maintenance, ensuring everything runs smoothly.

Sam and his wife, Donna, will celebrate 45 years of marriage this November, and they have been blessed with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He brings a wealth of experience, having coached multiple state champion soccer teams and served as a youth minister in Texas Baptist churches. Sam also holds several advanced degrees and numerous coaching certifications, along with Distinguished Alumni honors from St. Edward’s and Belmont University.

We are blessed to have Sam on our team!

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our PE & Extended Day Teacher & Summer Program Director, Naomi Smith!

My name is Naomi Smith. My husband and our two boys moved to TX in 2008 and feel truly blessed to have been able to raise our boys in Georgetown. I have been working with children since 2000.

After 20 years of working with children, I am still in awe of how their minds grow and expand with knowledge. I love seeing their excitement as they sometimes learn new things.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our Specials Teacher, Joleigh Fowler!

I’m Joleigh Fowler and I am the Specials teacher here at GCA. I have been with GCA on the elementary side since 2016. I have been a resident in Georgetown for 23 years. My husband, Tyler, and I have been married for 15 years. We have three rambunctious but sweet boys, Maverick (12), Griffin (9), and Truitt (3). We are very active in our home church, Heritage Baptist, here in Georgetown, and serve in different ministries there.

I love showing my students things they didn't know before. I enjoy nurturing their art skills and watching them as those skills develop and flourish. I love being there for them in case they need an encouraging word or to pray for them when they are going through difficult times. When your kids come to my class, they become my kids too and I will love and encourage and guide them while they are with me. As a mom that’s what I want for my own kids in their schools so I aim to be that for my students.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our 4th Grade Teacher, Teresa Perotti!

I am a Georgia-born and raised girl (go Dawgs!) who has lived in a few different states before declaring Texas my forever home. My family consists of my husband of 20 years, Josh, my 4 children, and 2 cats. We love baseball games and beach combing. I hold a BA in Business from Simpson University in Redding, California. My education background "officially" started 5 years ago when I got a job at GISD. I worked as an aide for two years there and then found GCA and have been here ever since. GCA is so much like the school I grew up in that it feels like home to me.

My philosophy is "With love and patience you can teach anyone anything". I gained this philosophy from my parents. They were foster parents and I watched as they taught kid and after kid value and worth through the love of Jesus. Every kiddo that came through our home left knowing two things, they always had a home and the words to Jesus Loves Me. I want every one of my students to know that as well. GCA is their home and Jesus loves them.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our 3rd Grade Teacher, Julie Chien!

My name is Julie Chien. This is my second year at GCA and I am so blessed to be part of this family! My husband, Cameron, and I are a blended family, married in 2016, and have four kids - Joseph (20), Mark (19), Elise (18), and Evan (12).

Curiosity fuels learning - about yourself, about the world God created, about everything. God made us in His image, and He is so creative! Every good, true, and beautiful thing about life reflects Him in some way, and we have the great privilege of seeking Him through our learning and growth as well as with our faith. I aim to instill a lifelong love of learning in our children.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our 2nd Grade Teacher, Teri White!

I am a native-born Texan, who was transplanted to California when I was a teenager. I am married to Dave, and we will celebrate 40 years of marriage in August. God blessed us with four children, 3 girls, Joleigh, Adriana, & McKenna, and 1 son, Braeden. We also have a wonderful son-in-law, Tyler, and 3 grandsons, Maverick, Griffin, and Truitt.

Along with teaching core subjects and making sure students have learned the necessary objectives, I believe that it is necessary for children to have a strong Biblical foundation that develops a Biblical worldview, and that can be an anchor for their soul when they step into a world that constantly rejects Jesus Christ.

📚🎉 Teachers are officially back at Georgetown Christian Academy for the 24-25 school year! We kicked off the morning with delicious breakfast tacos and some great bonding time. Our discussions about the upcoming year have us all feeling excited and ready for what God is going to do this year at GCA. ✨

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Our 1st Grade Teacher, Shari Myers!

I have been married to my husband Steve for 39 years; we have served together in ministry for the past 24 years. We have two children, and 4 grandchildren. Our daughter and family recently moved to the Austin area with our youngest grandbaby (11 mo) which is why we decided to move to Texas. My degree is in Special Education, I have worked in education since 1997 as a Para-educator, elementary special education teacher, daycare center director, and preschool teacher. I am excited and look forward to being the 1st grade teacher at GCA and meeting and working with the children, parents and staff.

I believe that every child can learn, and that learning looks different for every student. There are no cookie cutter kids. Each child is individually and wonderfully created by God Psalm 139:14. I believe in modeling mutual respect and trust, gathering student input on what they are learning and being conscience that learning is not a “one size fits all” approach. Valuing each and every child brings joy to me and brings a sense of value to each student.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Meet our Kindergarten Teacher, Jen Trexler!

Howdy! My name is Jen Trexler, and I am one of the two kindergarten teachers at Georgetown Christian Academy. I am originally from Katy, Texas, and I graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education. Since graduation, I have been teaching here in the Austin area. I have taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade, Pre-K, and now kinder! I live in Round Rock with my husband Gage and our two dogs, Decker and Bo.

Teaching is truly my passion. I will always go the extra mile to make sure all my student’s needs are met. What brings me the most joy in teaching is the relationships I build with my students and their families. I am so excited to meet my new group of kiddos and help them grow!

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Our Director of Academic Support, Ariana Evans!

My name is Ariana Evans, and I am delighted to be a part of Georgetown Christian Academy as the Director of Academic Support. My husband, Jonathan, and I have been married for 8 years and we have a sweet and adventurous daughter, Jolie. We also have a black and white Maltipoo, AJ, who has a ton of personality. My husband proudly served in the Marine Corps during the beginning years of our marriage. It’s a role that brings my family immense pride and we are very thankful for the service of all military members.

This will be my 11th year in education, and throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to teach elementary students across various grade levels. I am excited to support and inspire both teachers and students to discover new ideas and develop a love for learning.

GCA Faculty Spotlight: Our Development Coordinator, DeLaine Hewlett!

Hello! I'm the Development Coordinator at GCA, handling all marketing and fundraising for the school. I love being a wife to my wonderful husband, Steve, and a proud mom to our boys, Case and Cannon

When I'm not at work, you'll find me cheering on my boys at the football field or playing pickleball with my family. Family, nature, and faith are my sources of inspiration.

Having attended a private Christian school from age 2 to 8th grade, I deeply value faith-based education. My goal is to share our school's mission with the community and help more families experience the blessings of a faith-centered education.
