Bobbi Becker considers herslef the luckiest woman in Adams County, Pennsylvania. Every day she gets to sit in her studio in her woods, listen to classical music and paint, all day long and sometimes into the night. She has always loved being creative. Even as a young child presents for her family & friends were homemade cards, drawings or paintings specially created just for them. The praise & encouragement gave Bobbi confidence, determination and a dream.
A self-taught artist, Bobbi began her “professional” career in 1982. Her original watercolors of local Adams County farms & landscapes, children, nature, & celebrating life’s simple pleasures drew folks to her work. She is grateful everyday for the local & national support & encouragement she has, so she can keep painting. Most days there aren’t enough hours in the day to paint all her ideas. Recently, Bobbi was voted favorite artist in “Celebrate Gettysburg” magazine.
Bobbi, her family, a big beloved dog, a kitty, live in a new ”old” stone farmhouse next to her gallery , with daily visits by lotsa birds, a white tail deer or two, bunnies and chipmunks in beautiful Adams County, New Oxford, Pennsylvania.
She loves taking walks with her dogs by the creek nearby, shooting photos of the resident Great Blue Herons, wildlife, birds, the sky, the change of seasons …. jes’ being outside! All are inspiration for her work. To be an artist has been a lifelong dream for Bobbi Becker.
Local artist bobbi becker will be here for a Meet & Greet as part of the Gettysburg Christmas Festival, Friday and Saturday, December 1 & 2, 12-4 PM, 17 Chambersburg St., Gettysburg!

What's new at Gettysburg Custom Framing? Something old is what's new!
We've introduced high quality archival reprints of famous old maps of the Gettysburg battlefield. Choose from the Cope, Ditterline, Elliott, Monuments and Willcox maps. They have historical significance and they look great. Available in different sizes, both framed (using conservation glass) and unframed.
Being a picture framer in the center of Gettysburg, as well as an artist, occasionally I work with a customer who brings in a reproduction of one of my paintings to be framed. And, recently, a customer brought in one of my originals to be reframed. It was fun to see the painting again and to know the owner was enjoying it. I had not known who had bought it twenty years ago.
I had originally put a very minimalist frame on it for a gallery show where it was purchased. The patron decided they wanted something with a lot more pizzazz. Here’s the end result—a seahorse dressed to the nines.
