Yup, detailing from home was life. We turned out some miracles from that garage. Things were going great, until someone became a bit jealous. We were contacted by the Town of Gilbert and informed someone ha reported us running a business from home (oh no!) and we were not allowed to perform “this type of service” from our house. The reason we were given was because we were “increasing traffic” to the neighborhood. *Insert eye roll here*

Yup, our one car at a time process was just totally turning our neighborhood into the Phoenix International Raceway, so we were no longer allowed to work from home (even though the guy 2 doors down had a daycare from home with 15 people in and out to drop kids off daily).

SO, the hunt for a shop began. In hindsight, this was a blessing in disguise. It pushed us to move up a notch and a bit out of our comfort zone and eventually we came across 219 S William Dillard Dr Suite 119 Gilbert,Az.

No, it didn’t look like much to begin with. It was BIG, but dirty, dimly lit and hardly expressed our high detail, super clean tastes. However, we had a vision and to us, this was a blank canvas awaiting our OCD touch. That, combined with the fact that we had some family members who loved us enough to give a lending hand meant there was nothing that would stop us from taking this canvas and turning it into something truly special.

First thing was first, we needed paint....LOTS and LOTS of paint.

Paint from Craigslist, Paint from Home Depot, Paint off the neighbors walls - it didn’t matter to us. We needed paint!

Four coats....yup...we had to spray this 22’ high, 3000 sqft, CEMENT block canvas of ours 4 times. Cement block tends to soak up paint...and add that into the fact that we just “had to have” white glossy walls and well...that adds up to many late nights spraying away.

Freshly painted walls wouldn’t mean much though if we didn’t have some great lighting to be able to see. So up went dozens of T5 natural daylight bulbs into our new ballast - we can now literally see our shop from home at night because it’s the one that glows when the back door is up!

We then of course had to have a decent place to conduct the business side of things - and the ugly green office was not going to work.

So out came the drop cloths, rollers and tape to transform this room as well.

Daniela was surprised when I suggested painting the office purple (her color) - but hey, this is OUR business and it has to represent us both - so Kings Court Purple it was!

Next was the reception area (which um....didn’t exist). This would require a little demolition, so it was time to call in the big guns.

Thats right! My girlfriend Moshay and her 7 year old daughter Kamila came to the rescue. Between Kamila’s hammer skills and my girlfriends 3rd degree black belt push kicks, the wall never stood a chance.

She actually drove 45 minutes from work just come kick holes in the wall ... a true martial artist at heart lol.

In all honesty, our dad was the one who saved the day with this part of the project. Traveling all the way down from Pinedale,Az (a good 3 hour haul one way) on more than one weekend to help us frame, drywall and run electrical is truly something we’ll always be grateful for.

By the way - all this took place in the heart of a typical Arizona Summer...

The fun didn’t stop here - we also drywalled out the studded room (shown earlier) to turn it into a LED lit polishing room. This was when our Godfather, Turk, the man who’s been behind us from day one, encouraging us to be different, give 100% at anything we do, trust in God and push for our dreams, came in to help us do some more painting.

Finally came the finishing touches...the thing our shop is probably most well known for - the flooring. Now I’ll tell you, this took a lot of measuring, sketching out designs and discussion before we finally settled on our selection, but once our “blueprint” was completed...the boxes of Racedeck Tiles started pouring in.

If you didn’t catch it - the purple tiles matched perfectly with the purple office - and yes, that was intentional :)

Yes, this now was really starting to feel like home. Eventually cabinets, cord reels, detail carts, lifts and all the things we’d DREAMED about having in our OWN Detail Garage...started to trickle in - along with some personal touches.

From top to bottom - we truly poured our hearts into this place. We wanted it to be a place where car lovers and enthusiasts felt comfortable bringing and leaving their babies. A place that represented what we were about. A place that looked like the owners gave a damn - and thats exactly what we created.

As of this date in time (September 2018), we’ve now been here just over 3 years. Performing our usually stellar details, adding on clear bra, window tint as well as other services and giving people somewhere they can trust to bring their vehicles for no b/s, quality work.
