11 years ago I packed up my family and we moved to San Diego. I was 39 going on 40 and my oldest Austin was starting his freshman year in HS. Now I’m 49 going on 50 and my youngest Tiffany is starting her freshman year in HS. Time seems to go faster the older I get and sometimes I wish I could just press pause. I am so proud of my baby girl. I have loved watching her beautiful evolution from a baby girl to a beautiful young women. I love you Tiffany and the best is yet to come. LOVE DADDY ❤️

What I love about County music is that most of the songs are based on real life experiences. One Summer is one of those songs. What is ironic as a Dad is that the “One Summer” that Austin sings about was one of the hardest summers I felt like I had put my kids through. We are on government health care and food stamps. I was recovering from my 2nd back surgery and my Wells Fargo bank account sent a reminder that I had a negative -$27.00 in my account. To hear the joy in his voice as he sings about sunsets, his brother Connor and best friend Kevin makes me smile. Parents sometimes we try to “buy” our kids happiness when all they truly need is our love and acceptance. Kids don’t see life through our stressed out grown up lives. They tend to live for today, to love for today and fearlessly dream about tomorrow. Parents...As we head into another ONE SUMMER 2019 don’t stress about not having the money for a perfect vacation or new summer clothes for the kids. Just create a home with lots of love and acceptance. Truly I can tell you from experience that nothing else matters.
