That's the news, the hardware works and programming the hardware was been proven at a basic level.

This Can-Am DS450X doesn't really "need" anything.

An "it would be nice if" I can reduce the exhaust pipe temperature. Currently 850 degrees, day glow red. A typical thing with single cylinder 4-strokes.

This example is for 1/4-20 camera mount, that threads on the ball or mount, to hard point to one of the unused threased holes in the top triple tree of a BMW R9T. The bike was converted to clipons leaving a theaded hole of the strength level for handlebars on a liter bike.

It's been on the bike for 5 years and survived a high side crash that took out the dash.

Another custom machining and installation job.

Customer prefers RAM mounts with ball on steering stem.

The 2024 ZX6R uses a 10mm hex key steering stem top "nut". This setup prevents use of the RAM steering stem ball mount system.

The challenge was to find a way to fit the odd ribbed taper of the RAM stem mount in the small hole and secure it.

To solve this, I machined the back of the stem mount for a flush fit down the 10mm hole. I know the strength is not compromised as I have been using a similar set up on several of my liter and track bikes. It won't break unless something else bad already happened. I.E. high side crash the destroys dash, controls, tank etc.

Then a different retaining system, similar/same to another brand in popular use was fit down the steering stem.

Job done.

Did some experiments with fuel, air filter and air box.
Red is No Ethanhol fuel and no other changes from previous session.

Blue is simply a switch to 93 octane with ethanol. %8.3 in this case. Is it really worth almost 1rwhp. Maybe. We know it is possible.

Green is 93 but with the snorkels removed from the airbox. These snorkels are use in lots of bikes with no ram air. The biggest purpose is intake noise control. 1/2rwhp. Yup, I'll go with that but the bigger thing and this was something I could see and "feel" is the increase in torque. A just of over 2 for free.

Orange, 93 but now with the stock air filter swapped for a "DNA" high flow. Very similar to K&N. Sort of the European version of K&N. I'm not sure why this was a "less than" run. It didn't feel that way.

Black/Blue, still 93 but this time with a Sprint PF08. Seems ti like this. Up 1rwhp and 2+ torques all for the cost of an air filter, free removal of restrictive snorkels and less expensive 93octane.

Note: I seldom advocate fuel with ethanol in bikes but as a 2023, it's built for it.
