It must be retirement month because we have another awesome employee that is retiring this week. We will be saying goodbye to Dave Barnes. Dave is one of those guys that could do it all. Not just transmission related, but has real know-how about anything, from plumbing to electrical, to fixing whatever did not work. He’s been with Certified for a long time and basically helped build almost every department in the company.
Dave was a crucial factor in getting the Converter plant it’s start. He would even travel to CA with our owner, Peter Fink, to learn how build converters back in the day. Dave has pretty much helped in every aspect of the company. If something wasn’t working right, Dave was always there to help. The list could go on forever for how much Dave has helped with the company.
Dave, thanks again for all the great times and all the things you taught others here. We will definitely miss you around here!

Another awesome, long-time employee of ours is retiring. John Griffin worked for us since 1990, for 34 years at our retail shops. He’s an excellent diagnostician and a fountain of automotive knowledge and is great at training other techs and passing along that knowledge to them. John is all around a super nice person and all of our shops loved having him around. Saying goodbye to such an asset to our retail shops is not easy, and we’ll all miss him. We wish him well in the next phase of his life. Enjoy your retirement, John!
