Collective Update!
This past month has been a whirlwind as we get everything lined up for the fall, with new programs launching in September and October! Here's some of what we've been up to:
- Every Wednesday, we've continued to host our Spanish family nights. This month, we welcomed a barbershop to provide haircuts, wrapped up our yoga sessions, and had a blast with game and craft nights.
- We were thrilled to participate in a major resource fair where we distributed over 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students in District 45. Thank you for your generosity in helping us support our students!
- We also had a booth at Schafer’s "Meet the Teacher" day, where we connected with many families, sharing about our programs and resources.

Quick Story: At the resource fair, we met a woman who had been in America for four months without finding a community. As we talked, she began to tear up. We introduced her to another mom from our group, whose child will be in her child’s class. Since then, she’s been attending our group and is so grateful for the community. This story echoes the sentiments of many women in our Spanish group, who appreciate having a space to talk and support each other.

Even with the great month we've had, we do still have a couple of needs for volunteers:
- Running activities for kids during Spanish PTA on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, from 6:00-7:30 PM. This could involve big group games or board game activities.
- Spanish speakers who would like to invest in middle school students during lunch from 11:00 AM - 1:05 PM.

Our ability to impact the community depends on volunteers like you who are willing to invest time and energy in the next generation. By placing loving and kind adults in the lives of students and parents, we help them feel seen and known, sharing God’s love in tangible ways. We are continually amazed at how God uses these connections!

As you may know, Parkview Day is this Sunday at 10:30AM in the church parking lot. One of our favorite days of the summer, Parkview day is an incredible opportunity to worship, have fun, and get to know some of your church family a little better. Along with all that, we also celebrate baptisms, because we believe that celebrating baptism is celebrating life transformation that only comes from following Jesus. It is an outward expression of an inward reality: personal faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. We are thrilled to honor Hadessa Hobson for her remarkable decade of service and dedication to Parkview. From her early days as the admin for worship arts to her current role leading our care ministry, Hadessa has worn many hats and excelled in each one.
Hadessa's heart for people and her passion for connecting them with the help they need is truly a gift. She embodies the spirit of a team player, always showing love and compassion in everything she does. Whether she's offering a listening ear, providing support, or participating in our staff fitness challenges (which she always crushes!), Hadessa brings unmatched energy and commitment to our team.
We are incredibly honored to have Hadessa as part of our team and look forward to many more years of her impactful service. Please join us in celebrating Hadessa and her amazing contributions to our community! 💖
