We've teamed up with fellow Arizona-grown brand, Barrio Bread, for unique collaboration that brings Sonoran-style bagels to the market.

Crafted by James-Beard Award Winner Don Guerra and our very own bagel master Neal Borenstein, these Sonoran-style bagels honor the region’s heritage with scratch-made goodness and local ingredients. Made with Arizona-grown Sonoran whole grain flour from Hayden Flour Mills, these bagels celebrate our local farming and production.

It is with thankful but heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Lovey Borenstein, the Matriarch of Chompie’s. Although this is an unfathomable loss for us, we want to celebrate Lovey’s remarkable life and legacy.

Lovey LOVED everyone. Our one-of-a-kind mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was the heart and soul of Chompie's. In her over 40 years presiding over Chompie's, she was renowned for making every customer, employee, vendor, and supporter feel like they were a member of our family. And to her, they absolutely were. She brought honesty and intimacy to every interaction. No one was quicker to provide a word of advice, support, or in some cases a thought of course correction 😄.

From our family to yours, we're so thankful for your affection for Lovey and plan to celebrate her life as only she could request, with love and a bowl of matzo ball soup.

Although Lovey is no longer with us in person, her presence will always be felt through every detail in the restaurants, and through every bagel and egg cream enjoyed by our loyal community.

The Borenstein family will continue the Chompie’s tradition in her name, treating every patron with the same care that Lovey has shown since 1979. ❤️
