I had a patient ask today if oral Semaglutide is effective like the injections. Below is my response
Like the injectable preparations it does cause some weight loss; however, it should be noted that these therapeutic benefits were achieved using the highest dose of 14 mg daily, and are not as great as is seen with injectable semaglutide at the 1 mg once-weekly dose.
Recommend to stay or start on Semaglutide with B12 injections for weight loss.
