Here's a little secret: the cafe was just an excuse to make pie. Here's a mini gallery of some of the pies we've loved.

Thank you for taking this journey through the land of pie with us these past few years. (Along the way, we played some games, too.)

A look back at how the cafe was created! We began with two empty retail units and combined them to create one board game cafe.

Tabletop Day was always a special day for us, and on this day we celebrated with lots of pie 🥧🙂

We've been archiving some of our old photos and wanted to share some good ones from our time at the cafe. We'll be doing a series of these the next few days.

Back in 2014, some local firefighters visited us, and they graciously posed with Flash Point.

Random things we found.

We miss you! And we miss cookies. But we miss you more (we swear).

Running Game Haus was an experience we will never forget. As we did final cleanup on the space, we noticed how empty the cafe now looked, but it wasn’t that the games and furniture were gone.

What made it special was you. All the friends and families laughing, playfully arguing, challenging each other and bonding over some great games. If this place was great, it was because of all the people who’ve shared their time with us.

Thank you.

We wanted to provide an update for the future of the cafe, as we know many of you have been following its progress since the closure.

First, we wanted to express how grateful we are for the outpouring of support and interest in the future of GameHaus. Many of you have expressed the hope that the cafe will keep going, and it was our hope as well.

Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all parties involved, we were unable to finalize a plan for Snakes & Lattes to transition into the space we had once occupied. We wish Snakes and Lattes well and we know that they will continue to bring fun and great times to so many people.

Lastly, it greatly saddens us to say that we will not be reopening our doors. We want to thank all of you, and we are truly grateful for all your support in bringing the board game cafe concept to the L.A. area. We have almost nine years of wonderful memories and great times and none of it would have been possible without you.

📣 Snakes & Lattes is expanding to Los Angeles! We are thrilled to share that Snakes & Lattes will have a new location in Glendale, California. We are honoured to take over Game Häus Cafe created by our friends Terry and Rob. They built an amazing community and created incredible memories with their guests. We can't wait to continue their legacy and bring our Snakes & Lattes energy to The City of Angels!

We want to share slightly bittersweet news, but also some exciting announcements.

First, we (Rob and Terry) are stepping down as owners of Game Haus Café effective April 30th. We've seen this business through remarkable times and unexpected challenges over the last nine years, but seeing all the happy gamers, friends and families come through these doors has been some of the best moments of our lives. We're especially proud to have shepherded the café through the pandemic, and we are elated to see many of you return for games, pie and fun after such a challenging time.

More good times are ahead though, as we welcome Snakes & Lattes as the new owners of Game Haus! Snake & Lattes were the originators of the board game café concept in North America, and they have become the gold standard of game cafes that we've aspired to emulate. As part of the Snakes & Lattes family, Game Haus Cafe will not just continue but will see exciting developments ahead!

We are offering up a new drink for National Cocktail Day - presenting the Apples to Appletini! A mix of vodka-infused sake, sour apple syrup, and lemon juice. Now available, as well as our other cocktails, Thursday through Sunday!

In ancient Egypt, acts were worshipped as gods. They’ve never forgotten this! In Cleocatra from designer and friend of the cafe , you are cat rescuers in Cleopatra’s Egypt, saving cats in the pyramids! Now available at our cafe. And a shoutout to our neighbors for their great work rescuing cats in modern-day!

Great news! Per L.A. County Health Department, those who are fully vaccinated will have the option of going maskless at indoor restaurants starting Friday, February 25th. (Your vaccination date must be at least fourteen days from the date of your visit).

Going forward, if you provide verification of vaccination (and a photo I.D.), you will have the option of going maskless when visiting Game Haus! We will continue to adhere to the county’s various additional health guidelines with regards to Covid, as we have been in the past.
