Better Earth Textile Recycling

I hope you’re ready to recycle because November 15 is National Recycling Day and we’re making sure nothing gets turned into waste. According to “National Geographic,” Americans send 64 tons of waste to landfills during their lifetime. That’s 246 million tons of waste each year. National Recycling Day aims to encourage Americans to purchase recycled products and recycle more.

"Thrifting" has seen a huge increase over the past 5+ years. The younger generations have made it their mission to purchase quality used clothing from charitable thrift stores. These stores in turn are then able to do that much more for the communities in which they live. August 17th is National Thrift Shop Day, so go out and support you local store and community!

August 17th is National Thrift Shop Day! Its estimated that the second hand market will grow from $53 billion in 2023 to $82 billion in 2026. What is fueling this growth? Gen Z and Millennials love to buy second hand before buying new.

The Environmental Protection Agency estimates that the average person throws away 81 pounds of clothing per year. That adds up to 3.8 billion pounds of unnecessary waste added to our landfills.! Please consider donating to your favorite charitable thrift organization.
