This is a demo of the new primary molar strip crown forms coming from Nowak Dental Supplies this December ("Vente Posterior Strip Crown Forms"). They will be available in first and second primary molars. They can be used for conventional resin or atraumatic GIC restorations on primary molars with multi-surface caries lesions, hypoplasia, or hypomineralization . While these will obviously not be as durable as an SSC (preformed metal crown (PMC) or zirconia crown, they offer a minimally invasive, esthetic alternative for Hall technique that will help arrest caries and buy time if traditional restorations are not currently an option due to age, behavior, etc. I have posted a case of an EQUIA Forte strip crown on my dental assistant's permanent molar, which still looks great 2 years later! Thanks to Pamela Maragliano-Muniz and her EQUIA crown on Brian Novy for the inspiration and confidence to know this was possible!!

Why bother to apply SDF if you have to take your patient to the OR anyways?

This latest study adds to the existing evidence to support SDF application as a first line of defense. "SDF application prior to dental treatment with GA may be a valuable tool to reduce invasive dental procedures in GA." (specifically pulp therapy and extraction)
