So many young people suffer from lower eyelid puffiness and dark circles. As you may know, a lot of doctors (mostly not surgeons) inject FILLERS (Restylane) under the eyes to try to mask this. This is NEVER a good idea! It never looks good and it doesn’t treat the underlying problem which is excessive fat that is prolapsing forward. The right thing to do here is a good lower eyelid blepharoplasty where we suck the excess fat out from the inside of the eyelids (without cutting skin or need to put stitches). The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes in the hands of an experienced surgeon and the results are quite obvious even a week after surgery. I do these in the comfort of our own medicare-certified surgery center with mild IV sedation given by an expert anesthesiologist..

Ocular Cicatricial Pemphigoid he’s probably one of the most devastating conditions that can affect anyone! This poor lady was literally blind when she walked into my office. There are so many people who suffer from what we call “Brow ptosis” where one eyebrow is lower than the other. In this case, it happened because of an injury to her facial nerve during surgery (by another doctor).
At the same time, she suffers from droopy eyelids which cover her eyes and affect her vision.
The brow ptosis needs to be addressed at the same time as the Eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty), otherwise, they still look asymmetric…
Here’s an example of a “direct“ brow lift performed at the same time as a Blepharoplasty. Of note, the droopy eyebrow will continue to move down overtime because there is no nerve tone to the face, so it’s better to over correct this lift in the beginning… 👌🏻👌🏻

I’m so proud to have come up with a technique to actually “whiten” people’s eyes without having to undergo major surgery… Racial Melanosis affects millions of people’s eyes and some just can’t take it anymore. Drops don’t work, steroids don’t work, and the old ways of doing this procedure are way too invasive. After years of doing to pterygium & conjunctival surgery, I think i have finally narrowed this technique down and perfected it to be able to achieve results this stunning!

I got this from the engineer who worked on the James Webb telescope over 10 years ago! He brought this to me the day after we did LASIK surgery on him.
On the poster, he wrote “I can see as good as our telescope!”
I am a huge physics dork and I am so excited about this telescope finally being in space and opening its wings.
I can’t wait till it’s up and running after all these years. It’s going to give us incredible information about the universe and I can’t wait to see it! ❤️❤️❤️
My old mentor, professor Masket, used to say you don’t want to be a “one-trick pony.”
What he meant was you don’t want to just do one thing (eg lasik or cataracts, etc)…
Many LASIK centers only do LASIK.
Well, there are a lot of people who don’t qualify or are not good candidates for LASIK and you need to be able to know how to do other techniques to help them.
For people who have really high prescriptions, we recommend the Visian ICL. which is a posterior chamber implantable collamer lens.

This is absolutely true… The newer Lasik technology (CONTOURA zLASIK) treats irregularities in our visual system and Corneas that glasses and contacts don’t!
The new Contura Z Lasik is really incredible not just in safety and speed, but in accuracy and providing incredible results right away. I see people literally walking out of my office with 2020 vision right after surgery…
The other thing people can’t believe is the RANGE of prescriptions we can treat: we can go up to about -10 dpt of nearsightedness, up to +6 dpt of farsightedness, and 6.5 dpt of a stigmatism!

One of the most important things to do when you’re in surgery is to zone everything out and just focus 1000% on the task at hand. This is how I work sometimes 14 hours a day in surgery! I absolutely love having the best equipment, staff, technicians, nurses, and anesthesiologist help me every day all day! It all translates to outstanding results for my patients! 👌🏻

I couldn’t be happier and more proud than to see the progress of our third office in the city of Newport Beach! This center will also boast the latest and the greatest in ophthalmic diagnostic and surgical technology (like our other offices in Los Angeles and Glendale). The office design is going to be super sleek & modern with open windows and great views!

Some people just wish they had BIGGER EYES!
This is a totally different procedure than just doing a straight blepharoplasty procedure where we remove extra skin from the upper eyelids.
This surgery involves tightening the tendons of the MUSCLES that lift the eyes up (like a garage door opener)…
There are two ways of fixing droopy (“ptotic”) eyes. One approach is to lift it internally (without cutting the skin). This approach is great, but it doesn’t address the extra skin on the upper eyelids. The other approach is to actually cut the extra skin off and lift the tendon at the same time, which is what we did here. Got droopy lids/small eyes? We can totally help you!
