Maryland county honors 88-year-old foster mom who raised over 40 children Emma Patterson is what could be called a “super” foster mom. She started taking in children in the early 1980s. Over the past four decades, she raised more than 40 foster children.

Last weekend we had a lovely time celebrating the holidays with nearly 500 of our foster children and families. Everyone was treated to a delicious white glove service meal, delightful mariachi show, a personal visit and photos with Santa, gifts of their choice (thanks to SoCal Raiders Fan Club), a visit from a cheerful Mickey Mouse, photo booths, face painting and much more! We could have never have pulled this off without our generous donors and volunteers. With sincere gratitude we thank you all! 🎄

If we always solve problems for our children, they will never learn to solve problems themselves. We imply that they cannot overcome obstacles or succeed on their own, which conditions them to give up at the first sign of difficulty.
