These beautiful dancers are members of our competition teams this season! If you didn’t know, NSETC has 3 all-technique teams and 3 hip hop teams (plus competitive cheerleading, too!) One thing that sets us apart, is that our audition process is inclusive! All dancers who try out for our competitive teams, will be placed and make the team! We believe that passion is important, if your dancer wants to have the competition experience, we want to support them and are happy to support them in that experience! 🥰

More information about cheer & dance clinics/auditions registration will be out in a few weeks, so keep an eye out! Placement happens every spring, so there’s plenty of of time to get your questions answered! Give us a call 📞 847•730•5127

It’s at NSETC and we would like to introduce one of our longest standing faculty members, Miss Jessie, as our October Teaching Artist of the Month! Jessie started dancing when she was 3 years old at Debbie’s Dance Dimensions. Throughout school she found a great love for musical theater. In high school she joined her school’s Orchesis troupe in her sophomore year. She proceeded to go to WIU for Musical Theater where she studied singing, acting and dancing and participated in University Dance Theater as a performer and choreographer. She graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts. Since graduation she has taught at various dance studios and helped choreograph for a number of musicals. 

Aside from teaching dance, Jessie is certified in Yoga, Pure Barre and Zumba instruction and loves taking classes for herself as well! We love you Miss Jessie! 🫶🧘💃

NSETC is excited to announce our partnership with Dr Julia Yep, PT, DPT, for a workshop with our competitive cheerleading team, ✨Inspire! Julia is on our teaching Faculty as a Tumbling and Cheer Coach, and today she will be educating our athletes on injury prevention and exercises to increase power and improve form through level 3 tumbling skills!

She is a gymnastics and cheerleading specialist through Athletico, who provides specialized care for athletes through their gymnastics/cheerleading, performing arts, throwing athlete, running, ACL 3P, and concussion/vestibular care specialty groups. Looking to take care of a sports specific injury? You can search for specialists within your area on the Athletico website! (We’re biased, but obviously we recommend Julia 🫶)

Happy Friday NSETC! It’s and we would like to introduce our newest instructor on the team, Miss Ariana, as our September Teaching Artist of the Month! Ariana trained at The Chicago Academy for the Arts and later graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire in London with a BA in contemporary dance. She is a freelance performer, recently having performed in Danceworks and Thodos Dance Chicago’s New Dances at the Athenaeum Theatre as well as the Dance for Life annual gala at the Auditorium Theatre.
 
Ariana has worked for South Chicago Dance Theatre’s outreach program as a resident teaching artist and choreographed for Percy Julian Middle School’s Jr. Production of Newsies. In addition to North Shore Elite Talent Company, she currently teaches and choreographs at Artistic Pursuit in Westmont. She is also a certified yoga instructor and heading up our *NEW* LETS FLIP! yoga class for kids! (It’s SO FUNNN!)

Happy Saturday, everyone! We are so excited to announce that we are expanding our programs and adding even more classes for our next session which starts this Monday!

Our featured class this week is LET’S FLIP! A yoga class for dancers, athletes, and anyone who wants to be mindful, feel healthy, and go upside down in a safe environment!

Miss Ariana is our newest staff member, and the certified yoga instructor who will be leading the class. She will be teaching both breath work and traditional yoga poses, as well as safely helping dancers with inversions and partnering activities. You can sign up on the portal for class and start next week!

From Miss Sophia: Congratulations to Premiere Company Dancer Bea! Bea demonstrated an outstanding work ethic and enthusiasm for dance in her first few weeks of company rehearsals. She is always kind to her fellow dancers, a great listener in class, and such a hard worker. Keep it up Bea!

We are so excited to welcome back Miss Dre as our 2024-2025 Competition Team Director, and as our August teaching artist of the month! Miss Dre studied theatre at Columbia College Chicago, where she pursued stage combat, choreography for the stage and screen, as well as various acting styles. Throughout her college years, she was a proud member of Framework Dance Company with Intrigue Dance and has performed with many regional theatre companies. She continued her dance education in New York City via Broadway Dance Center and became a PBT certified instructor at her time with NSETC!
