As a pioneer women in a predominantly male field, she was one of the less than 5% women in her specialty of oral and Maxillofacial surgery when she began her career. Dr Laverdiere Beck , as well as this small group of women, have broke the glass ceiling and now the field is up to 15% women. She leads her specialty as both a mentor, training surgical residents in the OMFS residency program Cook County Health, as well as being on the Executive council for the Illinois Society of Omfs and the ISDS governmental affairs committee . In addition to her leadership roles, She most enjoys working with her patients here At OSG.
