Your scale is a LIAR!
Ask yourself this question honestly, then answer it honestly….
“Do I want to lose fat, or weight? And why?” Not both, but one. Why?
Being hyper focused on a number on the scale can be a self defeating experience. It doesn’t tell the story of what’s actually happening in the body. can tell you from todays measurement and checkin experience that if you were to only go off the scale you would be like “WTF?” But if you take into account her body fat percentage was 32.5% and is now 26.2%, which is a number that is closer to the “fitness” category than the “average” category, is this better than a low scale number? We MUST kill this scale culture, and it starts with all of us. We must focus on realistic obtainable goals that make us feel better and live longer functionality. This is where we find true happiness. In true “fitness”. Give Amanda a double tap to show some love!

we train anybody for nearly anything!
Dr. Cheryl has been with us for a year and loves to work hard, move weights, and ride her bike for hours! At Latitude we use a periodic phasing system that builds you, but also has deloads built in for healing and corrective exercise. If we keep our stabilization and synergistic muscles engaged and strong, our risk of injury goes down. Cheryl is working on eccentric loading of the Anterior Tibialis muscles on the lateral part of tibias. This will insure she retains proper Dorsi Flexion for all triple flexion and extension of the ankle, knee and hip complex.
If you or someone you know is in need of a corrective exercise program for: Post PT, chronic pain, or joint disfunction, head to our bio and set up a free consult now!

Sandbags. Why should we incorporate them into our training? Well, there are many reasons. But the main one I will point out is human movement. In our current society, a large percentage of our movements are repetitive movements, and not good ones. Our hips are in a constant state of flexion. Which means our core is weak. Hip flexors are tight and weak, our hamstrings are weak and lengthened, and our low back extensors are tight and weak. So when we stand up, our low back cannot have the posterior pelvic tilt it needs (low back arch), so we end up with chronic low back pain.
The use of sandbags, say in the form of a sandbag clean, can put us in a full range of hip flexion and then hip extension in a functional way. This will not only require the hip flexion and extension muscles to gain strength and flexibility, but it will also help develop power in the entire body! When we separate the body into different body parts to train on different days, it may help us develop muscle hypertrophy (size) in a muscle group, and give worked areas more recovery time. However from a human standpoint it is unproductive to human movement due to the inability of muscles to neurologically communicate to one another effectively. Now… I’m not saying you can’t train with a split system. What I’m saying is that if you can incorporate a conditioning finisher piece that incorporates power movements like the sandbag clean, you will have greater power, and greater total body function than if you did not.
A quick finisher I would recommend would be…
3-5 Rounds of…
• 5 Heavy sandbag power cleans @ 8 out of 10 RPE
• 10 Calories Assault Bike or burpees @ 9 out of 10 RPE
Rest 1:1 (Rest the same amount of time it took you to do the round. (RPE) = Rate of perceived exertion.
Time this entire workout and repeat 1 - 3 days a week for 4 weeks, the take a week of and focus on finishing your workout with zone 2 cardio @ 65% MHR for 20-30 minutes.

I tell all of my clients to find an event to train for and your body will change. Stretching & Flexibility Exercises Are Just as Important as Strength Training & Cardio.
WHY?
1️⃣ -> Daily stretching increases range of motion in your joints, increasing mobility🚶
2️⃣ -> Enhances blood flow, which in turn boosts nutrient circulation throughout your body 🩸
3️⃣ -> Improves posture and alleviates body tension and compression 🧘
4️⃣ -> Soothes the Parasympathetic Nervous System to promote rest and digest💆♂️
5️⃣ -> Decreases the risk of injury during normal daily activities or fitness training routines 🏋🏼♂️
Even if you don’t regularly exercise, make stretching part of your daily routine. Stretch when you wake up to combat morning stiffness, as a midday break and reset, or in the evening to relax before bedtime.
In a society where sitting and standing for long periods of time are the norm, resetting your body through a series of stretching techniques will allow you to relax, increase mobility and improve the imbalances generated from daily demands.
Be on the lookout for our weekly group Stretch & Flex Class schedule and 1-on-1 Assisted Stretch Sessions coming this week!
getting the ups on her last day of winter break training here in the studio… kicking some a$$💪🏻
Gracie’s been with us since her junior year high school where she played Lacrosse. Now in her sophomore year of college, whenever she’s on break from in the PNW, she’s here building and maintaining her strength and endurance.
She’s back at school now and back to online training and programming to keep her on track throughout the year.
Next week her Oregon Lacrosse team starts getting ready for their sports season and she’s way ahead of the game!
Get it Gracie!! 🥍🏃🏻♀️
Saw this post a while back and absolutely agree 💯.
Without managing and healing the body’s imbalances from the inside out, including your muscular, skeletal and central nervous system stressors, you’re only treating the issues and results that have been manifesting from those imbalances.
By adjusting your nutrition, your exercise routine, stress levels and outside influences, your risk of having to take any medication or man made substances decreases substantially if not completely.
We focus on treating, healing and strengthening your mind, body and soul from the inside out through a well rounded and structured holistic fitness approach. We assess you, find your imbalances, check and guide your nutrition and provide a variety of recovery and wellness programs to calm your CNS.
Don’t look to your Doctor for a magic pill, the magic is inside you already… All you have to do is commit to becoming better to yourself and setting some goals.
It’s almost a month into the New Year, if you’re struggling to make those changes and reach your goals, hit us up and LET’s DO THIS!!

Our whole lives we’ve been learning and taking in signals from society, our family, friends, our own beliefs and so much more and behaved and acted accordingly.
In order to make permanent change and reach our goals, much of the time, our entire being must work on accepting change and for most change is really, really hard.
Join us tomorrow evening for a LIVE session on what you can do to help yourself break free from preconceived mental blocks to reach your goals through changing your behavior.
