We move into our new house on Friday!!

I'm busy finishing up some custom orders in our workshop this week, but wanted to take a minute to gush about the potential of our new kitchen!

It's so funny that I do everyone else's kitchens regularly, but struggle to nail down a style that feels like it fits us. So as for style, I'm currently unsure of colors or tile selection.

BUT!! I do know that we will be gutting the old cabinets, taking down the overhang on the window, moving appliances around, and talking to an engineer about removing the wall that separates the kitchen and dining area. (Behind the stove). I'm hoping I can remove cabinets where the current fridge is and fit an island in the center of the kitchen. 🤔 We haven't been able to get any measurements as of right now, so it's all a daydream until that happens.

As of right now I'm loving the look of the white oak wood tone island paired with the creamy white cabinets that are trending all over Pinterest. I know that I want a "hard wood" cabinet because in my experience they just don't feel as flimsy as some other selections and they can be refinished in the future if needed. ❤️

We do know that the kitchen will be our first large project that we tackle in the new house, and then it will be on to the bathrooms. 🫠

We closed on our new house today!

It's pretty much original to 1969 inside and out. We have 5 bathrooms and a kitchen to completely gut, as well as wallpaper to remove, walls to paint (and possibly remove) and fixtures to be replaced.

We are so in love with our new home and I can't wait to share the remodeling journey with y'all!

What do I love even MORE than furniture salve? Furniture Tonic!!

It has all of the same functionality as furniture salve except it's more "liquidy" and easier to apply on large surfaces.

When I have a ton of drawers to refresh, I grab the tonic to save my hands some work. The salve is "waxy", so it takes more effort to work in.

FYI: Tonic also has a matte finish, perfect for sealing chalk paint. Salve has a satin finish. 😘

I had to call him in for help all day today so I could get finished up at our client's home and get our booth straight at Lola's Vintiques.

I'm finishing up this little entry table to bring to Lola's tomorrow. It's so cute!

Painted in Restoration by Wise Owl with a cute floral transfer on top. I added a WoodUBend embellishment to the front center to add a little more elegance to this piece.

I love the WoodUBend products because I don't have to deal with clay. You can glue it up and paint it rather quickly!

I have several WoodUBend appliques available at our booth space at Lola's Vintiques. Grab one next time and give it a try! They're super simple to apply. Just use wood glue, gorilla glue, or E6000 craft glue. When your glue is dry, paint and done!

Since the first week of October, our lives have been turned upside down. The owners of our soon to be new home reached out to us directly to purchase their home as they were moving out of state for work.

We had to put everything on pause in our personal and work lives to, all of a sudden, put our own house on the market.

For us, that meant: building & painting 72 new cabinet doors, tiling our master bath tub and wet bar, installing doors, painting all of the house trim, repainting walls, building and installing new walnut slabs for shelving, deep cleaning, and packing up almost the entire house.

We have had to push back customer work and our booth spaces have fallen behind. THEN, we went to Disney World, a trip that was scheduled earlier this year, and non-refundable and non-transferable. 🙄 BUT, we had a magical time as a family, and it was much needed.

So all of that to say THANK YOU ALL for your patience as we have had to balance a million things at once in our personal lives. We are back from vacation and about to hit the ground running with getting stock back on track, customer jobs finished, and closing out this year with a bang!! 🙌

Also, our new home is so beautiful! We are so excited! This is going to be the biggest renovation project yet! I can't wait to take you all along the ride!

Where have I been lately? At my totally awesome client's house working on removing popcorn ceilings, wall painting, and trim painting.

This job is a perfect example of how a "simple" job can run over schedule and become a huge headache. The wall paint I started with ended up needing FOUR coats for full coverage. That's double what I planned for, causing me to spend DOUBLE the time (and money) on paint! 😫

Luckily, my customers (as per usual) are so kind and understanding, so I'm rolling on and hopefully finishing up over the next few days. 🥴

*Pictures is the extra caulk I scraped and sanded off to get a beautiful smooth finish on the baseboards. They're looking so good now!

I have opened up a week on our calendar for a cabinet painting job!

Our house is on the market and life is getting closer to "normal," so, I'm squeezing in all the work I can until we have a buyer come along!

We only have this one spot and *possibly* one week available in December, then that's it until 2024!!

One of our most special projects in our house is our wet bar. We planned this space after deciding that we wouldn't ever be able to move in this current market. So, we figured we would make it our own with walnut slabs, black tile, and pops of gold.

Then the stars aligned and a house came along for us. We had already bought the supplies, so we figured that we would just finish what we started. 🥹

We sincerely hope the next owners love our design as much as we do! (And if not, don't trash the walnut!! 🤣)

What am I up to this week? Scraping popcorn ceilings!

✨ Update on client work: due to us moving, the next few weeks are up in the air as to how much and what I am able to do. Will I have a workshop space? I don't know! When will I no longer have a workshop space? I don't know!

Lots of things are in limbo right now until we figure out the logistics of selling our home and moving into our new home. Good news is our new home WILL have a workshop space, so I can get to work somewhat quickly after moving in. (And yes, we will still be local to Grantham).

My main focus at the moment is getting all of our current client work finished before we move out.

If you're interested in having work done when I have the time, please don't hesitate to message me, but just know that our life is chaotic at the moment with getting our house ready to sell. I hope to get somewhat back on track next week.
