Starting in 1958.....

John Griffen had the idea that Goleta needed a good masonry yard to supply the needs of our growing little community. He quickly found a following with local contractors and homeowners alike, not wanting to travel the then poor roads into Santa Barbara. There was no freeway then. Hollister avenue then State street and De la Vina to Montecito street made up the 101 Highway. The freeway was not opened until the early 1960’s.

John operated the business until he retired in 1976. Selling to the Albert Rump family, who in turn sold it to Ken Hall on the last day of 1986. Ken has operated and grown the business for the past 32 years with the help of several knowledgeable and friendly staff members.

Goleta Building Materials prides itself on getting our customers the materials they need at a competitive price, and providing the best possible service. Often we deliver materials the same day they are ordered.

Just this past December we completed a major upgrade to our trailer hauled concrete system. We installed a state-of-the-art, all mixing trailer concrete plant to make your small to medium size concrete job quick and easy with continuously mixed fresh concrete.
