What a great Super Bowl Game!!
We lost my best buddy Echo yesterday to cancer. What an amazing friend he has been. He loved all the visitors that would come to the farm especially the kids and babies.. gosh, he loved the babies. He and I were inseparable so close. It’s been devastating losing him with only the comfort of knowing he didn’t suffer.
To the best friend I’ve ever had.. I love you Echo always.
We have a few of our amazing FarmBags ready for Thursday or Saturday pickup. They are filled with lots of beautiful, organic produce, herbs and flowers. Plus our Farmhouse Kitchen's Banana pudding!! You can use the QR code to preorder now. They won't last long.
The 12 Stones garden club are visiting tomorrow.. it was a last minute thing and with the farm taking a spring respite this season it been game on to get the pavilion patio ready for company. I do my best work by the seat of my overalls😂 tired but content.
Granted it’s not our normal busy season here on the farm with us taking this season off. It’s the first spring/ summer we have closed the farm in 22 years of growing for our CSA. It’s also the first time in many years I have got to selfishly enjoy the peonies bloom without worries about cutting them for bouquets. A little bittersweet much healing after loss takes time. Giving myself over to the process of grieving and not running or hiding from it feels like I am trudging through sand.
Seeing the flowers blooming makes me realize we all have seasons and time just keeps moving forward.
Foggy, misty evening..
I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted with updates here on the farm. For those of you that who don’t know.. my mom passed away a few weeks ago which in itself has been utterly heartbreaking for my family.
I am thankful that this year has also fallen on our fall and winter rotation and the beds lay in cover crops or fallow a much needed rest before the coming spring and time to plant again. Thank you to our farm CSA shareholders and friends of the farm for all your cards and condolences they have meant so much to Mark and I. We are grateful for these last few weeks giving my family some private time to grieve and come together. My mom was an amazing woman not only to me but the entire world loved her.
Mark has dug every bed out this fall.. Bermuda grass is absolutely the The hardest and hardiest of grasses to farm around. Thank u Mark❤️❤️
