Had a great time at Jamaica State Park yesterday. Got to reconnect w some rock star paddlers at the annual West River release.

Had the most excellent day coaching Ida back into white water kayaking. This young woman really has it! Great balance and determination. We worked Pontook Rapids pretty hard with three laps over 5 hours.

Ida kayaked with us as a middle schooler over a decade ago and thought it would be fun to flirt with one more potential hobby…I say she’s got it!

White water kayaking groups are done for the season but with the warm temps in the forecast, I’d be down for some more laps. Call to book 693-466-2333.

Bike / Walking Trails Update: On Saturday, September 7, Great Glen Trails is hosting the Paul LeTarte Cross Country Invitational. The trails will be open to walkers, with athletes having the right of way. At 1pm the trails reopen for bikes & bike rentals.

Starting Sept 5th, embrace the change of seasons with our Fall Trail Running & Walking Series!

Calling all ages & abilities! Every Thursday for 6 weeks, run/walk the long, short, or mini courses between 3:30 and 6:15pm. The course varies slightly each year, taking advantage of both wide carriage roads and more challenging single track. You can enjoy the series as a timed racer, or untimed — just to get out each week and enjoy the fresh air. Well-behaved dogs (on leash) are welcome too. Series culminates with a community potluck!
