It's official!
We are completely OUT of canned kitten food.
Kittens eat A LOT and we currently have 161 kittens in foster and 30 or so at the shelter.
We always want to be able to provide our fosters with food so they do not have to buy it themselves. They already do so much for us and the kittens in their care that it is the least we can do. BUT, we can't do that when our shelves are empty.
If you are able to donate a case or two of canned kitten pate, we would be so grateful! 😻😻

In 2024, we want to focus on one aspect to high quality oral care in pets- dental X-rays. You have X-rays performed when you visit the dentist, and guess what? Your pet should too!
The American Animal Hospital Association’s (AAHA) Dental Guidelines strongly recommend every pet undergoing a dental procedure have dental X-rays performed while under anesthesia. The ONLY way to accurately evaluate the entire tooth is to take an X-ray. Teeth are a little like icebergs: the part above the gum line we can see, called the crown, is only part of the story. Dogs and cats have long roots below the gum line. It is not uncommon for the crown of a tooth to look normal, yet a dental X-ray reveals a problem hidden below under the gums that necessitates treatment.
One reason we have to anesthetize pets for dental cleanings is they must have an X-ray plate and beam positioned all around their mouth- even the calmest dog or cat would not allow this! Dr. Ripperger's dog "Koosa" recently had her teeth cleaned- the photos below show our veterinary assistant Remi taking dental X-rays. We found Koosa's one tooth had an extra root- the normal tooth has 2, but the symmetrical tooth on the opposite side had 3! This isn't a problem, but illustrates the interesting things we might find with dental X-rays.
We have been getting some calls about this recently and there is no need to worry. Our doctors and staff continue to feed our pets Purina with no issues. You can always call us with any questions or concerns 262-375-0130.
No need to panic. These are rumors. Jill and I continue to feed our pets Purina ProPlan without issue.
Help! If you are busy doing some early spring cleaning during this cold spell, we are looking for donations of gently used bath size towels. Any donations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
As of Monday (1/15) we are still having issues with our phones, so please email the clinic if possible [email protected]. Thank you!
