Introducing...
πCOACH LANCE HAARMEYERπ
Head Coach of a 2024 10/11U Granbury Generals team!
Coach Haarmeyer and his family are proud to call Granbury home since May 2019. When he isn't busy coaching football or pursuing his 17-year-long career in oil and gas, he enjoys golfing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. Coach is an Aggie at heart but lives in a house divided since his beautiful wife is a Longhorn. The 2024 SEC Season should get really interesting at their house π!
Coach Haarmeyer has been coaching football for 5 years and has had an incredible impact on the development of many young athletes. Coach says "I believe everybody has a purpose. My favorite thing about coaching is that I have the opportunity to be a role model and someone they can look up to. I love watching kids work for a common goal and be successful. If I can play just a small part in that success then it makes it all worthwhile."
Coach Haarmeyer believes football can offer many life lessons. He says it teaches that hard work, discipline, and dedication can lead to successful results on and off the field. He is thankful for all of the volunteer coaches he shares the field with who provide the kids with examples of strength, resilience, and respectability. He enjoys watching his son and all of his athletes develop and grow more with every season. Coach knows the future is bright for all the young men of his team and is excited to watch it unfold.
GYFA and the youth of Granbury are incredibly lucky to have Coach Lance Haarmeyer and his team of volunteer coaches giving their time and energy to the boys!

Meet Jaxon Thomas, a Granbury General who is one of our 2024 scholarship recipients playing his first year of football this 2024 season! According to www.projectplay.org, tackle football can cost families $500-$600 per athlete per year. And with the overall cost of youth sports increasing and inflation across the board, the cost of sports is becoming a barrier to participation.
According to countless government and nonprofit studies, kids who are more physically active are recorded to have 40% higher test scores, lower levels of depression and self-derogation, and experience many other social and physical benefits. Yet the CDC reports fewer children participating in organized youth sports on an annual basis.
Did you know GYFA offers full and partial scholarships to cover registration fees to athletes who qualify and supplies tackle equipment to all athletes?
It is GYFA's mission to offer more scholarships to qualifying athletes like Jaxon, as well as tackle equipment to all athletes in an attempt to remove the financial barrier to play.
You can help Jaxon and many more kids like him have the opportunity to play in Granbury Youth Football by donating today! Just click on the Venmo or Paypal link and choose your in-kind donation amount. Every little bit helps!

πCOACH CHAD LIGHTFOOTπ
A Head Coach of a 2024 7U Granbury Generals team!
Coach Lightfoot has grassroots in Granbury. He was born and raised here and is now proud to raise his own family in his hometown. By day he is an Insurance Agent, selling Auto, Home, and Business insurance for G&S Insurance Solutions. He also maintains and manages an eBay store where he sells sports cards, clothes, and shoes.
In his free time, Coach Lightfoot enjoys hanging out with his beautiful wife of 20 years and his kids. He enjoys playing fantasy football with his friends and collecting sports cards and memorabilia.
Coach Lightfoot says what he enjoys most about coaching youth sports is giving back to the community that he is a part of and loves so much. He states that so many kids he coaches face difficult socioeconomic or familial situations that are out of their control and he can spot them from a mile away because he can relate. He grew up in a similar situation as many of the kids he coaches and being able to pour his time and energy into every single one gives him joy. He is not just teaching football but also life lessons and showing them all how much value they have as individuals. Coach Lightfoot says, "I want them to think of me, my words, and my teachings when they are at a crossroads and unsure of the right direction to take. I want to be a light in the dark for them." He feels that football is important and can teach kids many life lessons such as hard work, dedication, teamwork, and so much more.
Coach Lightfoot enjoys cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the TCU Horned Frogs.
We are thrilled and thankful to have Coach Lightfoot as one of our esteemed Granbury Generals Head Coaches! Wish him and his team a fun-filled season of learning, developing, and playing football!

GYFA wants to support as many athletes as possible to play football. However, without more volunteer coaches, some kids are in danger of not getting the chance to play this season.
We need an able person to step up as Head Coach and several more to support as assistant coaches for a 10U/11U team.
Please email [email protected] if you are interested or have questions.
Thank you to the Granbury High School Football Coaching Staff and Head Coach Bobby Allison for opening your facilities to us and spending your time with our youth coaches this weekend!
Also a big shout out to Amanda Rogers with Granbury ISD who spoke to our coaches on age appropriate communications and behavioral development.
Thank you to Samantha Rather with Glen Rose Medical Center for spending time teaching age appropriate conditioning, recovery, and hydration.
Thank you to Dr. Heinz Schwarzkopf for speaking on concussion and heat protocols.
Lastly, thank you to our GYFA Coaches who are taking their time to dedicate to the youth of Granbury!

Come listen, observe, and learn what is to be a GYFA coach and learn what your athlete's coaches are dedicating their time and energy to to best support your football player this season.
This is an observation-only opportunity, if you wish to have a vote in the Head Coach election process, please register as a coach/volunteer and complete the necessary certifications.
It is Evaluaton & Fitting time! π
Saturday, June 22nd at Hunter Park in Granbury. Please see the image for specific division evaluation times. If your athlete is going through evaluations, please make sure they are in athletic wear, have a water bottle, and are prepared for the heat (wear sunscreen etc.).
Reminder, evaluations are not mandatory and for some divisions not necessary with a single team but fittings are mandatory for every athlete. We understand it is summer and also a big baseball weekend and we can appreciate that. We will be holding a single makeup date on Tuesday, July 9th at 6:30pm, location TBD. This will be the last date to get fitted for jerseys and equipment. To play, an athlete must be at one of the Fittings. There will be no other fittings offered past this date.
There is still a little bit of time! Sign up tonight and be ready to put in some work tomorrow morning πͺπ!!!

ππ’ Attention Granbury Youth Football Families π’π
βοΈβοΈImportant update for the Fall 2024 SeasonβοΈβοΈ
Granbury Youth Football will be participating in North Central Texas P*e Wee Football Association. If you are already registered, please log in to your Team Sideline to read the most recent email distribution on division alignments and what this change means for your athlete.
To our 2nd Grade flag athletes (7U/8U) and families who hoped to play flag instead of playing tackle; we want you to know the decision was difficult and was deliberated on greatly. The GYFA Board values flag football and all the opportunities it provides many athletes as an alternative to tackle. We are prepared to answer all of your questions and concerns via email and hope to make the transition as easy as possible for all athletes.
While change can be difficult, we are excited about the opportunity to play in the North Central Texas P*e Wee Football Association and look forward to a great season of football! πππ
