Early childhood educators play a vital role in shaping the future of our children. We are beyond thankful for the few but mighty ladies of Platte Valley Children’s Academy, that keep us going.

Their dedication, passion, and patience are essential in providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children to learn and grow. It takes a very special person to be able to perform the demanding daily tasks for multiple young children at once. We are beyond thankful for their hard work.

Childcare is the industry that supports the rest of the economy! We are beyond thankful for their devotion.

This Friday, May 10th is Early Childhood Educators and Child Care Provider Appreciation Day.

Please take a moment to honor and appreciate all of the amazing early childhood education providers we have been blessed with here at PVCA!

Grand Island Public Schools will be closed again Friday, January 12th, due to winter weather.

All district activities for today are cancelled as well.

It looks like we will wait to see what this winter storm turns into before we know what GIPS decides. It really isn’t ideal, but we trust that the right decision will be made come morning.

Not only are we battling with winter weather, we are battling serious illnesses right now as well. These snow days have undoubtedly given our sick kiddos the extra time at home to get better, or just the opposite, with extra time at home to present symptoms that would have otherwise presented in a classroom. I could go without a snowstorm for many winters to come, but I am certain and thankful that this has kept our kiddos a slight bit less exposed to some very contagious and very serious viruses.
Hopefully it means we are getting it all out of the way nice and early this new year.

We will post as soon as we know. According to their message, no word at 4:00 am means they are open. I will post either way by 4:15 on here.

WINTER WEATHER UPDATE:

As you may be aware, more winter weather is likely headed our way this evening.

We want you to know that our district administration and maintenance teams are monitoring the forecast closely.

Due to the timing of the incoming weather and the fact we have had two snow days already this week — we won’t make a snow day decision until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

We recognize the situation is less than ideal. Please know that we are taking every measure we can to potentially host school tomorrow while still ensuring safety for our students, and our staff.

If we do not share an update by 4:00 a.m. Friday morning, please plan on joining us at school for a full day of learning.
