Debra Bowers Award presented to Jamie Schweda in December 2021 Nebraska VR (Scottsbluff office) has chosen one client each year to receive the Debra Bowers Award since 2012. The Debra Bowers Award is named after a client who achieved employment success while overcoming adversity. Debra's determination, motivation, and dedication to achieve her goals is her legacy and this lives on each time the award is presented. VR staff saw the same determination, motivation, and dedication in Jamie Schweda. Jamie's perspective on life is truly amazing. Jamie's ability to see the brighter side of life has driven Jamie to achieve her goals.

Jamie has worked for Independence Rising for three years. Jamie is a receptionist, Independent Living Specialist, and Peer Support Specialist in the Independence Rising Scottsbluff office.
