As a natural hair stylist I see a lot of contradictions of what healthy hair styling is. In my opinion, lack of integrity, normalizing of poor hairstyles, and miseducation that often leads clients to hair loss, all for the sake of securing the 💰bag needs to change.
There are more stylists who specialize in changing (relaxing/silk pressing) or covering up (protective styling w wigs, weaves, braids) , than promoting their clients to focus in caring for and wearing their real hair.
In order for black women in the US to stop being the leading in NON-medical related hair loss like traction alopecia, the stylists claiming to be part of this natural hair industry need to change how we support clients styling choices. Yes, what you do to your hair is ultimately your decision, however, are you paying to go bald or maintain the option of wearing your real hair when you choose?
My intent is never to convince but to convey a message to black women who struggle with, but DESIRE to accept their real hair is enough to be worn and loved. Therefore, the hairstyles I create are a reflection of that message.
Oh and “healthy relaxers” are oxymorons. Just had to put that out there. 🧠💔❤️‍🩹♥️

Playing golf with the ladies today. Plsase refer to us as the Divot Divas sporting the animal print skirt. The ladies wearing the orange shirt were know as the Golf Goddesses - they place 1st place. ended up an even par and placed 3rd! Overall, it was a treat for me playing with these beautiful ladies who know how to play this game we call golf. 💚⛳️
