Race weekend recap! We had a blast cheering on Jeffrey Earnhardt and the #45 Mondo car this weekend. Special thanks to the Co. A, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment who joined us this weekend to honor their fallen Corporal Michael D. Jankiewicz. We can't wait to get back to the track!

As we enter this race weekend, we remember fallen Cpl. Michael D. Jankiewicz and honor his, and all veterans', service to our country.

Cpl. Jankiewicz was a machine gun team leader assigned to Company A, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Fort Benning, Georgia. Jankiewicz was killed during a combat operation in Zabul Province, Afghanistan on April 9, 2010. The CV-22 Osprey aircraft in which he rode crashed. He was pulled from the wreckage and treated by unit medical personnel, but quickly succumbed to his injuries. Jankiewicz was a highly decorated military officer who received the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Parachutist Badge. He was also awarded the Army Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service Ribbon. Posthumously, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Jeffrey Earnhardt’s car pays tribute to Cpl. Mankiewicz and Company A, 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. We are honored to host Rangers this weekend at the race. Thank you to all of the men and women who are currently serving, served in the past, or who have died while serving. We are forever grateful.

This past weekend we had a great time partnering with Tommy's Express Car Wash. Both athletes in our Drivers Development Program, Ryleigh Davis Racing and Biniam Van Wynen Racing, were put to work at Tommy's Express. Fans who stopped by received autographs and got a chance to hop into our drivers' cars! We're grateful for community partners like Tommy's Express. We're thrilled to share that Mondo athlete, Oscar Pedersen (), will be taking part in round one of NXTGenCup the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup! It starts this weekend at Falkenburg in Sweden. Way to go, Oscar!

Here's a weekend re-cap for Mondo Driver Development athletes who raced!

Pedersen Racing (Formula Nordic) had a race weekend in Fällfors, Sweden. After some trouble with a broken control arm during his first race on Day 1, Oscar pulled away with 3rd place in the second race. On Day 2, Oscar pulled off a 2nd place finish in Race 1 and 3rd place in Race 2. He currently sits 2nd in the overall standings!

Berlin Raceway hosted their 4th of July Celebration on Saturday night. Ryleigh Davis Racing (Limited Late Model) got her car fixed and back to the track after June 17th's pileup wreck. Despite finding out that the weep hole on the water pump was leaking during tech, she was able to get it fixed and pulled through with 11th place finishes in features 1 and 2.

Biniam Van Wynen Racing (Mini Wedge) showed up to the track with a new car wrap! Biniam won his heat race. However, during the first laps of the feature, he was railed by another car which set him back, but he still finished 6th overall!

Progress is being made on fixing the car after the pile-up wreck during my last race. The new nose, a radiator, and fan are expected to be installed soon. The plan is to be ready to race for Berlin Raceway's 4th of July Celebration on Saturday!

In today's "Meet the Team" post, we'd like to tell you about a man who rarely needs an introduction- NASCAR driver Jeffrey Earnhardt . Jeffrey Earnhardt is the grandson of 7-time NASCAR Cup Champion Dale Earnhardt and nephew of this generation’s most popular driver, Dale Earnhardt Jr.. He began his racing career piloting a silver 4 cylinder Yugo at Wythe Raceway in Rural Retreat, VA. He won Rookie of the Year at the local track and knew immediately that he’d chase his dreams to the paved tracks of NASCAR. When he's not on the track, you can find him in hunting and fishing.

Meet our rising star driver, Biniam Van Wynen Racing. Biniam is 13 years old, and well on his way to becoming the NASCAR champion he dreams to be. As a The Mondo Sports Group Driver Development Program athlete, Biniam will have the tools necessary to continue developing his skill sets, and will have the opportunity to create relationships with many of todays competitive NASCAR teams. We're fortunate to have drivers on our team like Jeffrey Earnhardt who mentor athletes in our development program. The Mondo Sports Group strives to remove barriers of entry and allow Biniam to do what he does best…COMPETE!
