Artists who are also passionate about “finding memories” - this mother and son duo won the top ArtPrize award for capturing the the memories, guidance, and advice of people nearing the end of life. This is the important kind of work I feel we are missing in our culture, and an example of why I am so passionate about digging these stories out of the past. Over the last century or two we’ve fallen out of touch with storytelling and listening to our elders.
I do have one question, however… the article doesn’t mention anything about the covid delta variant and going into a small phone booth to put a public receiver up to your face.
