Northview Family Dentistry
We provide gentle dental care for the whole family!
In addition to brushing and flossing, take care of your oral hygiene by replacing your toothbrush every three to four months and avoiding aggressive brushing that can harm your gums. Be sure to use dental products that have been approved by dental associations. ๐๐ฆท

While you sleep, the bacteria in your mouth tend to multiply. That is why you may sometimes wake up with โmorning breathโ or a mossy taste in your mouth. Brushing first thing in the morning fights those bacteria and coats your enamel with a protective barrier that will help protect against acids in your morning meal. ๐ฆท

Many people experience tooth sensitivity to cold temperatures in food, but did you know that the chilly air outside can cause it too? Using specially made toothpaste for sensitive teeth is a good option to help avoid discomfort. For a more individualized assessment and solution, contact us 616-364-8769
Did you know tooth stains can be prevented before they become visible? There are a few lifestyle habits that can help you achieve a bright smile! Limit food-staining beverages, such as wine, coffee, and soda. Brush your teeth roughly 60 minutes after consuming one of these foods or beverages to limit their effects on the color of your teeth. Limit your sugar intake, as a diet high in sugar can cause bacterial build up resulting in plaque. Calcium-rich foods, such as milk, cheese, and broccoli, may help protect your teeth from enamel erosion. Contact us with your teeth whitening inquiries!
When you donโt floss, you miss cleaning ~40% of the surfaces of your teeth. Remember to brush AND floss twice a day! ๐
Replacing your toothbrush is a necessary habit for healthy teeth! Overtime, the bristles wear out and become less effective in cleaning your teeth. They also begin to harbor bacteria if not replaced regularly. Remember to keep your bristles fresh and clean!
Wishing you a very happy Independence Day!! ๐บ๐ฒ
Gingivitis can eventually lead to Periodontal disease, which affects the bone structure that supports your teeth. If the condition is severe enough, your teeth may fall out. Don't neglect your oral hygiene, and visit your dentist regularly to help ensure this does not happen! ๐๐ฆท
Brushing twice a day, flossing daily, and regular check-ups are the basics of keeping our teeth and gums healthy. What most of us donโt realize is what we put into our bodies and how we absorb those nutrients play a significant role in our overall oral health. These 4 things are important to include in your kidโs diets for healthy teeth!
