Hello friends!
I’ve been working behind the scene on something that I’m excited to share with you! But before I can do that I wanted to let you all know that I’ve decided to change my business name.

I wanted the name to be a little bit more personal and hopefully easier to remember and spell. So over the next couple of weeks you might see some changes to my website and social media but I just want you to know that its still me and I’m still accepting design clients so feel free to reach out for your new home, remodel or decorating project. Thanks for coming along this ride with me!

After we had so many trees removed in our back yard we were so excited to get a garden planted this spring! Today we added the finishing touch thanks to Propel Landscape Management. The black mulch really compliments the raised garden beds and we couldn’t be happier with how it turned out!

Now we just need some rain so we can get to planting grass. 😊

All this beautiful weather we’ve been having means that outdoor projects can get started!! Yay!

We’ve been painting the exterior of our house, cleaning up the yard after having trees removed and getting ready to plant a garden!

This picture is not our house but it’s a beautiful landscape from a past project for inspiration. 😊 I plan to do a before and after of our house as soon as it’s finished so stay tuned!

Also my father in law did basically all the work! The tile, cabinet, plumbing, electrical, and the list goes on and on! He did such a great job!

Last night at our Thanksgiving service we were reminded the importance of not only having thankful hearts, but remembering to say the words out LOUD.

Going to our Lord Jesus and saying thank you out loud will help us live every day grateful not just today. But I’m definitely taking what I heard and trying to practice it today!

You guys! Next week is Thanksgiving already! I can’t even believe it!

Of course when I think about thanksgiving I think about the dining room and all the good food we’re going to eat with family and friends.

So I had to share this dining room so we can all dream about eating all the food here. 😁

There’s so many good things going on here!

Would you believe me if I said that this is a remodel?? And that the front door actually isn’t wood??

One downside of living in Michigan is that wood doors don’t really enjoy our snowy season. So one way to combat that is to do a woodgrain fiberglass door and apply a gel stain! I’d say it looks pretty convincing to me!😍

I love it when the layout works for a window in the kitchen! It provides great natural lighting and this particular window adds extra moodiness with the black frame and lites. 🖤

Check out the light in between the mirrors in this bathroom!

It’s a fun whimsical light to compliment the straight lines of the tile and cabinet. We made sure there was plenty of other light sources in this bathroom so the light fixture could really add to the overall design.

I love how easy it is to decorate your bathroom for the season with little swaps like towels and floral pieces. These rust colored towels look so great when decorating for fall!

Do you ever decorate your bathroom for the different seasons?

I’m loving the dark, moody walls in this bathroom!

One custom detail that I really appreciate is how we made the light switch and outlets black. Can you imagine if they were white? They would grab your eye instead of the beautiful wood vanity. All those small details do make a difference!

This cute bedroom is making me want to add a macrame hanging to Everly’s room!

Macrame was pretty popular for a while but I think it’s died down a bit now. I still think it’s super fun and adds a whimsical feel to the room. What do you think? Should I hang one in Evie’s room?

This bathroom was added to a portion of an unfinished basement! Swipe to see the 3D concept picture that I drew up in my program before any construction was started.

This is a great tool to help visualize a space before any work is started. And the best part is that things can be tweaked super easily at this point! You’ll notice we ended up with different paint colors, the shiplap was turned horizontal and some of the other finishes were changed.

That’s totally normal! The purpose of the 3D program is to have a starting point - a reference to see the space and decide what your likes and dislikes are and to make sure the layout works for YOU in your everyday life.

Exciting news!! We bought a house! 🏡

We are doing a little renovating and a whole lot of painting before we move in. Would you guys like to see some of the progress?

Lighting tip: make sure your bedroom ceiling fixtures are a proportionate size for the room as well as a sufficient light source.

A bonus for this room is that the light fixtures add texture and warmth.

It’s a perfect combination of design and function!

Does thinking of pillow combinations leave you feeling stumped or you’re just not really sure where to begin?

Well here’s my pillow combination formula:

✨ Start with a solid color

✨ Add a second accent color - bonus points if it has fun texture!

✨ Then throw in a couple of pillows with prints - one that has more of a subtle print (like a simple stripe) and one that is the bolder statement piece.

And voila! You have a picture perfect pillow combination!

We incorporated grays with just a hint of blue for the accent tile in this bathroom. It’s a great pop of a fun color without being too much color that you would get sick of after a while. It still looks sleek and classy.
