Rainbow Emperor Tetras, Nematobrycon lacortei. These are a hardy, but uncommon Emperor Tetra species. And like the more common Emperor Tetras species, the males and females are easy to tell apart by eye color. In the Rainbow Emperors, males have a red eye and the females have a green eye. In the wild this species of characin fish is endemic to the Amazon river basin and Araguaia river, in Peru and Brazil. House a group in a 20 long or larger heavily planted tank. They are a peaceful species that do well with just about any aquarium fish, just stay away from more aggressive species that will pick on these guys. We currently have these in stock. Come in and see them for yourself!
