Our growing pediatric dental office is in search of a qualified individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills to fill our open insurance coordinator/front office position. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience with dental insurance billing or front office experience and exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The insurance/front office coordinator is responsible for evaluating and validating insurance information to verify and process the necessary claims for accurate filing of payments, as well as supporting the front office with tasks as needed. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Sending insurance claims electronically, along with correcting any rejected claims.
- Verify patient dental insurance coverage and limitations with all major dental insurance providers as well as Delta Dental Medicaid.
-Review existing benefit breakdowns for accuracy and update as needed.
- Track aging claims and follow up with insurance companies to ensure reimbursement.
-Process predetermination of benefits and communicate details with patients.
-Appeal rejected claims.
-Process insurance payments (Check and EFT).
-Add new insurance breakdowns to patient charts.
-Support front office with answering phones; scheduling appointments; addressing patient/parent needs; sorting and scanning important patient documents; and general communication with all departments to ensure high quality patient care.

We had an amazing day with and staying up to date on current medical and dental research regarding the treatment of lip, tongue, and buccal ties relating to issues with feeding, speech, and sleep. Proper assessment and treatment of oral restrictions is life altering for babies, toddlers, children of all ages, and parents - we see it everyday at our practice 🥰

Continuing education is of the utmost importance for dental and medical providers in order to ensure we are keeping up with best practices for treating our patients according to the latest research. Research regarding assessment and treatment of oral restrictions is profound and continues to debunk some providers’ out of date knowledge on the subject. We encourage every provider and parent to keep asking questions! The answers to help babies and kids struggling to eat, speak, and sleep are out there in plain sight!

To celebrate our team and our 5th birthday, we surprised everyone with a shopping trip to Kendra Scott! Our team sparkles inside and out. Anyone who comes in our office compliments our team for their happy energy. You can’t help but smile when you are around them! We are so lucky to have this awesome team at PDS 💗

Today we celebrate 5 years since opening our doors to you! Dr. Stephanie and Dr. Katie dreamed up PDS before kids and marriages while driving together to and from working out at a local barre studio. It’s been a dream to build this office and our team in order to serve our patients and their families the best way possible. Building a practice from nothing to see where we are today has been amazing! We are so happy to be here in this city we love, treating our friends, family, and our amazing patients who drive from all over the state of Michigan to come see us. Dr. Lexi Gallagher brought her sweet baby Emerson in for her post-op today after having her lip, tongue, and cheek ties released last week. Dr. Gallagher noticed improvement in her feeding the day of the procedure. Since releasing her oral ties, Emerson is gaining weight, no longer leaking milk when feeding, is feeding more efficiently, and is just a happy little girl! As an orthodontist, Dr. Gallagher understands how important optimal tongue function is for not only feeding, but Emerson’s jaw growth and development as well! We are so happy we can help sweet babies like Emerson feed successfully, comfortably and give her the best chance possible for growth and function for eating, breathing, and speech as she matures! We are excited to watch you grow, sweet girl! 🩷💙

Sage Michael made an early arrival this week! Born at 1:09am TODAY and weighing 4 lbs 13oz, 18cm long. He is in the NICU and doing great! Both mom and baby are healthy.

Ireland went into labor at work yesterday and was such a strong mama (not even knowing exactly what was going on!) Sage decided he was ready to come early and we couldn’t be more excited!

He really wanted to share a birthday with Abby’s little one Andie - who turns 1 today!!
