Cholestyramine, being a bile acid sequestrant, binds bile acids and can alleviate this symptom when applied topically.

2. Inflammatory Skin Conditions
✴️Irritation or Dermatitis: In some cases, cholestyramine ointment is compounded to help with skin irritation or dermatitis, particularly if the irritation is linked to bile acids or similar compounds irritating the skin.

3. Radiation-Induced Dermatitis
✴️Post-Radiation Treatment: Cholestyramine ointment may also be used to manage skin irritation or dermatitis that occurs as a side effect of radiation therapy, particularly in the pelvic area where bile acid leakage might occur due to gastrointestinal effects of radiation.
