Hey friends, I've got some sad news. Flip Dog is closing at the end of the month.
I opened this place for people like you. I wanted to bring yoga to you in a way that would remove all barriers to you feeling like your realest (real word?) self.
We've made it through a pandemic and, personally, a whole lot of struggle. But now it's time for me to move on to other things.

I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for you--you who supports Flip Dog, who comes to classes, who shares our posts on social. You who loves who we are. We cherish your support.

Getting started doing yoga can be confusing. Yoga teachers/studios like to make it look more involved than it needs to be. Yoga has awesome benefits--a calmer mind, a happier body--and it shouldn't be so hard to sift through the non-sense.

Hey, Nick here. I wanted to say a quick note about morning yoga in general. Yoga and meditation in the morning has been part of my routine for the last several months. While it hasn’t always meant that my days have been amazing, it has allowed me to approach situations calmly, observing and acknowledging what is and knowing I can always return to my breath to ground myself.
Recently, I have gotten away from this routine. What’s more, over the last few months, community events have led to a rather large increase in my personal anxiety. You could say that I’ve been struggling to make sense of the world. Without my morning practice, I haven’t been creating the space that I need to approach the world in a constructive way.
Today I spent a few moments moving and meditating, and immediately noticed a difference. I am better able to both sit with and sift through my feelings after this time.
Please create space to take care of yourself. The world moves whether we are being good to ourselves or not. Please make sure you are giving yourself grace, and doing things you love with people you care about.

There's no wrong way to do it.
I often tell our students that there's no wrong option in a pose or no pose that's better than another, because:
It's so easy to be consumed with getting it right that we miss out on actually experiencing what's happening.
We are so programmed to avoid the guilt and shame of being wrong that we are more concerned with avoiding pain than taking care of ourselves.
Intentionally letting go of the need to be right in class can help you find peace.
Our knowledgeable instructors can help you relax in studio so you can be more at ease outside of it. 😎
