Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on history, learn from it and create an environment that supports and empowers Black communities. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865 when thousands of enslaved people in Texas were ordered free. In 1979, Texas became the first state to officially recognize Juneteenth as a day of observance. The day was recognized nationally in 2021. WYCE and the GRCMC offices are closed today in observation of Juneteenth.

The Ayers Basement Systems Tuesday Evening Music Club is back this week with a double dose of talent! Catch Sixman and Ace Tellis-Aguilar Boogie & Friends at the Frederik Meijer Gardens Amphitheater stage. 🎶 Gates open at 5 pm, performances start at 7 pm. Stop into the Grace Jarecki Seasonal Display Greenhouse before the show to witness the rare bloom of "The Beast." 👀
