It’s been a while since we posted! It’s always busy on the farm. We recently picked up three new Dexter cows and they are precious! Introducing, Victoria and her calf Windy and little Effie. They will make a great addition to the herd.

Select either pick up at our farm or pick up at one of our drop locations either in Tallahassee or Marianna on a specified day/ time. A drop location for Panama City will be available in the future. You can also order through RedHills Small Farm Alliance every Sunday @ 8am through Tuesday 6am EST.

Podo says hello!!

Red Hills Small Farm Alliance is open for ordering! We have whole chickens, lots of cuts, eggs and freeze dried blueberries and strawberries listed. Grab them while they last!!

Our six little farm hands🥰

Each of our boys has a part in the farm. They all contribute in one way or another, even our youngest, who is 3. He helps bring in the eggs or scoop feed, our 5 year old will feed cows or check on water troughs. The oldest boys help with the processing of the birds and have daily chores they attend to. It is teaching them to have a good work ethic and to be thankful for the things God has provided for them. These boys can grow a garden, make compost, help deliver animals, milk cows and goats, put up fencing, butcher animals, hunt, fish and build just about anything. They work hard everyday and I am SO proud of the men they are growing up to be❤️

Trying to keep our birds cool in this heat. A shade cloth and solar power fan was added to this set of birds. These 75 birds go through about 25 gallons of water a day on pasture at week 8.

God’s creations are so beautiful! It amazes me how something can start from a tiny seed and grow into food that can nourish our body. When I look at our garden, I think of our farm and how it has grown and turned into such a gorgeous place full of life and love. To all of our customers, thank you for supporting us! You are part of this dream and it is because of you that we can keep going.

All of our freeze dried products are grown on our farm or from local farms! We had a great time picking strawberries and some veggies as a family last weekend. The kids enjoyed harvesting our carrots. They said it was like a treasure hunt to find the biggest one!❤️

Introducing the faces behind the farm! We are Jason, Hannah, Jj, Brayden, Parker, Turner, Griffin and Little Fishy, the Koch family🥰

Three years ago we bought raw land in Grand Ridge, FL on a whim. Together with hours and hours of hard hard work and lots of memories we built Muddy Boots Farm.
We had a dream to be able to provide affordable organic food to our community. Health and wellness is very important to us and we love to teach people about nutrition and how to live a healthy lifestyle.
We are passionate about regenerative agricultural and farming. Soil is the key to everything farming and without good ground, the seeds that are sown will not grow. Similar to so many other things in life.
Thank you to every person who has supported us so far. We are grateful for all of you and we hope to continue to grow and provide a healthy food option for our community and those around us.

We have really been enjoying these cool mornings the last few days on the farm. Such gorgeous weather for all the animals who love to soak up that sunshine❤️

Each kit comes with 10g of dehydrated sourdough starter and instructions on how to rehydrate her.
I have made HUNDREDS of loaves of bread from Sourfina. It is an excellent way to save money and eat a healthier bread. Don’t be intimidated. Sourdough baking is so much easier than it seems!!

Who doesn’t love fresh bread!? I absolutely love a fresh baked loaf of sourdough. Two years ago we started making sourdough for health reasons and to save money! Now, I want to share the sourdough love.
Coming soon to our store we will be selling sourdough kits. Each kit will include sourdough starter you can rehydrate(named Sourfina😁) and instructions on how to get it started again and how to make your first loaf! So keep your eyes out for those on our website. We are hoping to have them ready in the next few weeks.

It’s amazing how fast these Cornish Cross birds can grow! In one picture Turner, our 7 year old, is holding a day old chick and a 3 week old chick. The larger chicken he is holding in the other picture is a 6 week old bird. We like to process our birds between 7-8 weeks of age.

Our next batch of birds are looking beautiful and ready for processing in just a few weeks! The chickens love all the chicory we have in the fields and thanks to our rotational grazing and moving our birds daily they have helped build the soil and fertilize the ground! Everything is so green and the kids love hiding in the fields🥰

Also, some exciting news…..in the next few weeks our chicken will be available on Red Hills Online Market🥳 We are working hard to get all our ducks in a row to become producers so be on the lookout for our farm name next time you shop!

Our layers get moved to new ground weekly, where they have plenty of fresh pasture and bugs to eat! Jason made our “egg mobile” and it keeps the chickens safe at night and gives them a cozy place to lay eggs during the day. Our eggs have a yolk as bright as the sun which is a great indicator of a happy, stress free chicken😁

Our chickens are happy birds and a happy chicken is a better tasting chicken! We like to say our chickens only have one bad day in their life and that is processing day. Even then we try to make it as calm as possible for the bird. Every other day they get plenty of sunshine, fresh air, we move them to new pasture daily, lots of fresh water and plenty of bugs for them to enjoy. If you haven’t tried our chicken, you will not be disappointed. We offer farm pick up days and plan to add a Tallahassee delivery day on Fridays. The link to our farm store is on the top of our page😁
