These days most of my new patients come twice a week for about a month. After that most are transitioning right to maintenance care (1x/week or 1-2x/month). No longer any need for year-long, 40-60 visit care plans to get fixed.

The costs are so low and the value is astronomical. Most people expect to pay hundreds of dollars per visit when they go to any type of medical provider. Our visits are no more than about $40-50 worst case with no insurance. People are getting life-changing results before they even spend a couple hundred dollars with us, that they've spent thousands on in the past with other doctors.

I have seen greatly accelerated rates of progress since some of the new techniques and approaches I've figured out, developed, and adopted over the last year. Lot of things have started to click in my 12th year of practice.

The office is actually a bit slower than last year (because we're actually fixing people too fast!), but we're developing into a whole different type of office than what I came from. Getting more referrals than ever and building a reputation in our town for being the office that fixes people.

Everyone is unique in how much care they need, but the most common pattern I'm seeing lately is people are getting massive improvements in the first ~8 visits or so, typically coming about twice per week for the first month. That's the bulk of the work. Past that many come in once a week and get smaller but still substantial improvements over the next 3-6 months. If people go that far they're usually in pretty great shape and we just recommend maintenance care 1-2x/month.

The cost of this is so low compared to other health care options, and it's often the only thing that actually works. It's a no-brainer!. Who do you know that needs some help?

Where chiropractic reality shines is when people have had head/neck trauma, long-standing upper cervical misalignment, and resultant compensated posture, proprioceptive defects and neurological degeneration. Almost all the people that come to me have had head/neck injuries.

I took a hands-on adjusting course with Dr. Ted Carrick a few years back. It made a huge impression on me. He went around a room of chiropractors, fixing everyone's chronic long-standing issues more or less on demand. People that have had thousands of adjustments from other docs in their lifetimes.

Whole different level of value. Dr Carrick doesn't seem like he's really even into promoting that type of work. But if we had 10,000 chiropractors out there doing that kind of work, we could just about put the surgeons and pill pushers out of business in a generation.

Just had a really cool case of anterior compartment syndrome in the leg. Runner, 7 miles/day for the last 1.5 yrs. Limped in. Walked out. So cool!

Knee Pain gone!

KNEE PAIN and INJURIES - an overlooked CAUSE:

I see this OVER and OVER again in practice.

Dysfunctional movement patterns must be viewed GLOBALLY. Abnormal function anywhere in the body eventually results in damage/pain somewhere.

The fascia + biomechanical system distribute all tissue stresses globally. Because of this, symptoms don't come until things are REALLY bad. It's also unpredictable where the first failure point will be. The knee is a common early failure point.

Many different types of cases show up with the same underlying cause, but different failure points (symptoms). Headaches, sciatic, and knee pain are usually fixed the same way.

Most of the bones in the spine don't "pop" out of place. One single area is quite special in this regard, the upper cervical spine. The occiput (skull) and C1, and the C2-C3 joints don't lock above and below and are prone to improper juxtaposition.

Misalignment/subluxation of the upper cervical spine usually causes SEVERE inhibition of the glute and hamstring on one side, or sometimes both. The hamstring dynamically stabilizes the knee. Inhibited hamstring contraction = weak, painful knee likely to be injured.

The fun part is testing the strength of the hamstring, adjusting the upper cervical spine, and then retesting the hamstring. It will be NIGHT AND DAY, and the person, amazed, gets off the table and walks/squats pain free immediately. And climbs stairs.

If you have knee issues, and see a chiropractor, make sure they look at your upper neck- many DON'T. Choose carefully and jump ship quickly if you're not feeling confident in them. They should be able to prove their worth quickly and explain what's going on.

This doesn't mean every problem can be fixed quickly. Some issues, or aspects of them, are neurodegenerative, or tied in with longstanding muscle/ligament dysfunction. But there should be noticeable positive changes within a week or two in most cases.
