*Public announcement* ~ Due to our relocation to Cincinnati, Ohio there will be a small delay in commissions and 'worx just for Fun'. Our family roots are here in Indiana so I'll still be around, and look forward to my work continuing here.
Giving equal time to Cali our(Megan Windbigler) daughter's love.๐ค created a while back.
The studio is all packed up and will be back up and operational in Cincinnati in no time. Thankyou all for your consideration and encouragement of the work!
This is Frank, our Andrew's little guy. It's my last art project for short bit as we relocate to Cincinnati, Ohio. We've been here at home in Indiana these past 3 years as we said so long to both of our mothers. We were so very glad to be here during this family time. Cincinnati is only 4 hours away. It's a good decision. The work will continue as soon as we get set back up. Group hug everyone!
Fossils, especially those dating back millions of years, are museumed and protected, but we still want one! At least I do anyway. Which is where the inspiration for this replica originated. The original prehistoric Meganeuridae, largest known insect, giant dragonfly, from the photos of it, are extraordinarily inspiring! From the working studio of aka a (extended version) Lol

Here at home in the studio, he's had several nick names, but the one that sticks is Jessy Stone. Lol. I found myself listening to the beautiful music of the series of the same name and received great inspiration from it. Not to mention, inspiration to stick to the finishing of this very big project.
Coming in at 80" high x28"x36".
I'm not sure how much he weighs yet.
When we calculated early on in the project we were at, no joke, 44.44....lbs. Yes, I like my 4s.๐ค He's put on quite a few more lbs since then.
From the working studio of aka or the by my husband. Lol. Love you honey๐ค. This work is strongly an expression of the 'finishing spirit' and love. I started this Project 3 Months ago! Got sidetracked.๐ An emotional connection can serve inspiration to a design project after a dry spell, which spurs us on. Yes, this is my second piece like this, I was working from a comfort zone. Lol. The person who bought the first one, loves my daughter Meg. Thankyou! You know who you are๐ค. So creating this one had Meg's energy all over it. Milk creative energy, because ! warriors .

It's no wonder I'm fascinated with this white mineral to create these plaster works, it's ancient ๐. The word "plaster" is derived from Greek, and has a rich history. In the early civilizations of Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, Ancient Rome, the Byzantine Empire and Medieval England, they would have also known it as "alabaster". It was sourced by early civilizations to leave it's mark on humanity. To us today, commonly known as gypsum, and in it's soft form it has many surprising uses. In it's crystalline form, the old English used to call it "spear stone" ( crystals). The oldest known gypsum "crystals" are up to 36 ft in length in a most incredible, did I say incredible, mine in Mexico and are estimated at over 500,000 years old. What a beautiful heritage of this mineral art substance.

In sanskrit, mandala means, seeing the whole universe at once, or, my favorite, wholeness, or simply circle. In various Eastern spiritual traditions, it carries a much deeper meaning. Simply, it may be useful as a tool in focusing attention for spiritual guidance, a map of sorts in establishing that 'Sacred Space'. "Destiny of the Blue Heron" of approximately 2.25"x36"x40" is the latest bas relief work from the working studio of aka

An extra Special Thankyou and Shout out to Janna Wild Rose of Cutting Edge Stencils! Your stencil was inspiration for this work. ๐ค๐๐ค
What is that old saying, 'Iron Sharpens Iron". I would consider that the case when artisans can partner together on projects and build upon each other's strengths to achieve the goal at hand. Thank You Janalee Middendorf Pierce of Off The Wall Painter and Design, for the invite sometime back (9/21) to work on a few projects together! We were clearly challenged and victorious moment by moment. What a rush! I appreciate all of your generosity.
I value this platform to document how and with whom I spend my time promoting team building and creativity. Go get 'em Jana girl! cause you Rock as a designer!

I believe an emotional connection can serve as strong inspiration for a design creation. This recent work is definitely that connection for me from a couple of years ago kayaking a quarry in Ohio. Titled 'Great Blue Heron' is approximately 3x32x52", first of my "White Sands Project", a continuous exploration in bas relief sculptureart.

Are white cranes good luck?
Answer:
A white crane is a strong representation of good relations, and, therefore, the bird symbolizes a desire to be a good person for those who matter most in your life. Being present and genuine for our loved ones should always be a priority.
