Tuesday Night Party at the sound lounge. This week the featured artist is the David James Consortium, a folk fusion blend with catchy originals. Next weeks featured artist is Wes aka Pacific North Wes, a singer songwriter who plays and sings with beautiful precision.

This Thursday is the monthly open mic at area 61 in merlin. The Featured Artist is Justin Southwick, a fantastic singer songwriter. We start up at 6pm.

Just to clarify, the 4th saturday open mics at the rogue pub n putt are starting up next month. There is no open mic in rogue river this saturday, it's next month on the 4th saturday of July.

The Ant HIll is playing another show at the Jacksonville sunday market this week. From noon to 1 on sunday at the jacksonville courthouse.

Thank you all so much for all the support. It's such a treat to play music for yall and to provide the platforms and spaces for others to experience the joy of entertaining an audience. You dudes rock!

Just wanted to give you a heads up that I've changed the dates for Eagleview Pickout 2024 ..... It will now be the LAST weekend of September, Sept 27-29

The earlier dates I had the campground reserved would conflict with too much other stuff happening then (eg Prineville OOTFA gathering, Butterflies & Bluegrass in Elkton, Third Sunday Bluegrass Jam in Sutherlin, etc)

If you want me to reserve a time slot for your band to perform a set of music, pls LMK soon.

We are delighted to have 33 String Drive headline the Festival this year. They will close out the evening. They are fab favorites for certain! 33 String Drive is a six-piece Bluegrass/Americana band from Southern Oregon that includes fiddle, banjo, mandolin, guitar, Dobro and upright bass. Members include some of the most seasoned players in the area including Bob Evoniuk on Dobro and Jeffery Jones on mandolin, both founding members of Foxfire, Siskiyou Summit of course. On banjo is Rick Nelson also a founding member of Siskiyou Summit and of the Rogue Valley Bluegrass Boys. On fiddle is the amazing, Jessie Watson who will delight you with her Bluegrass style on fiddle and harmony singing. On the upright bass is Holly Hurley who has a voice that will give you chills and finally, on guitar is Kevin Andras, who's a well-known fixture in the Northern California music scene. Kevin's guitar playing and singing adds the Drive in the 33 Strings arrangements. 33 String Drive’s vocal harmony singing is second to none! This is no “jam band!” This is a professional group that focuses on tight vocal harmonies, intricate instrumental arrangements and most of all, entertainment.

Saturday morning, between 8 and 10:30, a "ring of fire" solar eclipse will pass over So. Ore. Get your special glasses and head for a place that gets the morning sun. You won't be disappointed!
Grants Pass, Medford and Ashland are on the southern edge of seeing the perfect annular eclipse. I'm planning on driving north, maybe Glendale, to guarantee a view.

Third Thursday is TOMORROW. See you there/then. After that our new date is .....wait for it........Fourth Tuesday 5:30-7:30 PM
See you for our LAST third Thursday. Who knows....maybe after football season is over we will do it again but for now this the last third thursday then it will be FOURTH TUESDAY.

Fort Umpqua is worth a visit.

There will be a CIRCLE JAM in front of Fort Umpqua in Elkton, Oregon this Saturday Sept 16 from 2 - 3:30 pm. I actually plan to go on Saturday at 1 PM and do some Bluegrass Parkin' Lot Pickin' by the INFO BOOTH for an hour before the circle jam even starts. Wanna join me? LMK!

After the jam, three bluegrass bands will play at Bluegrass and Butterflies from 4-10 pm. FOG HOLLER (from the Bay Area), NEVER COME DOWN (from Portland) and THE BROTHERS COMATOSE (San Francisco). Tickets are $50 advance ... $60 at the gate (fundraiser for Elkton Community Education Center's WELLNESS INITIATIVE to reduce high levels of chronic illness in that medically underserved area through nutrition & lifestyle classes, support groups, public benefit application assistance, telehealth access & preventative health services.

They'll also have 3 food trucks (seafood, BBQ & something else) ... and a beer/wine garden. Here's a link to the website for advance tickets.
