Sold! I just brought in this super awesome pair of red antique doors. I absolutely love β€οΈ β€οΈβ€οΈthis original paint color, but can you image how good they would look painted white or even stripped of all the paint?!? Honestly any color on these would be amazing! They are just SO cool!
I'm dreaming of a red and pink Christmas πβ€οΈπ©·β€οΈπ©·π
Using vintage items is one of my favorite ways to decorate for Halloween.
Vintage suitcases, old gates, and that black server are perfect for everyday decor but really come to life during Halloween.
And that black server...so cool! Clawfoot legs, antique mirror in the back, and pull out shelves on the sides for even more display space.
How do I choose a paint color???
The process of choosing a paint color for your house can be overwhelming! There are SOOOO many colors π€―.
I start by selecting a theme or style and overall tone I want for a house.
For the lake house, I wanted a dark color on the exterior. Light and bright on the interior. And the theme is "Lake House Americana," aka red, white, and blue with hints of nautical decor.
Once I decided on the theme and general color palette, I went to the store and grabbed multiple color swatches. I took about 20-30 home and held them up in the light and in different rooms until I narrowed it down to under 10 (still too many ππ€ͺ). Then, I went back to the store and bought a few sample sizes to paint on the walls. This step is so important because the paint can look very different on the wall than it does on paper, which allowed me to eliminate several choices immediately.
Finally, after looking at the paint samples on the wall at different times of day, I narrowed it down to 3 favorites.
And the winner is...

I did it! I closed on my second π π property! After looking and making offers for almost a year π€ͺ, I finally went under contract and closed on this little beauty.

I love a good antique door π and this made the perfect spot for a barn door track. The room is on the small side and I was able to add a closet without the door taking up too much space in the room
Remember that antique architectural trim I got ages ago?!? Here is the finished product! π₯³ππ a truly grand entrance to a porcelain throne πββοΈ
Here it is...the finished kitchen π₯³πππββοΈ I am completely in β€β€β€ with the brick backsplash. What do you think? Are you a fan of brick?

Loving how the floor transition looks from the hallway to the bathroom. It's still a little messy, but things are finally starting to come together and look like a home.
My dad and I added a few more wood details to the front porch. I'm definitely loving the character this little porch has now.
Antique week is going on right now and it's always a great place to find cool architectural pieces (my favorite)! I snagged this awesome doorway header that I plan on using at the house I'm remodeling.
