A fantastic performance tonight from the Chicago Recorder Trio. Lisette Kielson, Patrick O'Malley, and Mirja Lorenz are long-time friends of the Barn and have appeared in this space many times in many different ensembles.

Well, that's a wrap on the 2023 season! 2024 remains a bit in limbo as we try to hammer out a new relationship with the owners of the Barn. Watch this space for developments!

Get into the Holiday Spirit as the Chicago Recorder Trio returns to the Barn with a new program, "Baroque Delights and Seasonal Joy."

Lisette Kielson, Patrick O'Malley, and Mirja Lorenz are long-time favorites of Barn audiences, and have each appeared several times in various ensembles.

And yes, Patrick will be bringing his new mega-recorder...

The Concert starts at 4pm.

Grand Valley Baroque, here IN TWO WEEKS:

Virtuoso cellist Pablo Mahave-Veglia returns to the Barn with a program of Antonio Vivaldi cello sonatas accompanied by a luxuriously enhanced continuo group: Gregory Crowell, harpsichord; Joel Spears, theorbo; Chris Belland, baroque guitar; and Kevin Flynn, cello.

Published in Paris around 1740, at a time when the cello was a relatively new solo instrument, these sonatas display an astonishing variety and inventiveness, stretching the instrument's possibilities to the utmost. Both technically and musically challenge for the performer, these works showcase all that we love about Vivaldi: an enormous range of emotional extremes, from deep heartfelt sadness to infectious joy.
