Photographing little ones is one of my favorite things to do. These sweet kiddos + some younger siblings got to show off their personalities for preschool photos. Some kids were full of smiles, others a little more serious, but all were adorable!

This sweet family of six braved a crazy windy day for some updated family photos, and got some great ones! These little ones were troopers!

Senior photos with an urban vibe...I think she nailed them!

An eagerly awaited baby on the way + a love of all things outdoors = an epic maternity session! This lovely couple is ready for all kinds of adventures once their baby boy arrives. We snuck in a few more traditional maternity photos too. Look at how radiant mama is!

Three boys = lots of energy & lots of adventures! There were so many great photos from this session that it was hard to choose some favorites to post!

The fall colors made a perfect backdrop for this lovely couple's mini maternity session!

My boys are my most challenging subjects by far. I pulled out all the stops to get some nice photos to put on our walls...bribery, bringing Dad along to keep them in line, doing a session with just the younger two and then another one later in the day for the older ones to minimize the chaos, and more bribery. But the end results were well worth it!

A few tips for choosing outfits for your fall photo session...

Let fall's colorful foliage guide your color palette! Earthy neutrals (white, cream, tans, browns) can be paired with burnt orange, mustard yellow, or subdued reds. Various shades of blue also look great in the fall to complement the oranges and yellows of the leaves. Plaid shirts are a popular choice for the season and can be a great base to inspire accent colors.

Use layers for visual interest and add in seasonal accessories like scarves and sweaters.

This family session had a little bit of everything! Brotherly wrestling, a 3 year old who just wanted to RUN, and the whole family enjoying each other's company.

This fun-loving family took some time to document the six of them together before the oldest heads off to college. There were so many great photos from this session that it was hard to choose which to post!

This family brought all the smiles & laughter to their session, and it was so much fun!

Being in front of the camera myself is not one of my favorite things to do. In fact, I avoid it whenever possible. (Can you relate??)

But a couple months back, I was making a slideshow for my oldest's graduation party, and realized that I could only find ONE photo of just her and I together since she grew out of the baby stage.😢

I might have missed the boat on getting pics with her while she was growing up, but now that I've realized how much I wish I had more photos of me WITH my kids, not just OF my kids, I'm going to make it a point to get in the frame with them occasionally, even though I don't particularly enjoy having my picture taken.

I'm a bit embarrassed to even post that one photo I found, but I'll step outside my comfort zone and share it.

Tried something new...and discovered that taking pics of a tiny little dog is a lot like photographing an extremely short toddler😅 A bit exhausting, but definitely worth it!
