The Port of Green Bay is the western-most port of Lake Michigan.

A frequent visitor, meet Margaret with Tug Albert! The tugboat Albert was originally constructed in 1979 and has faithfully served the Great Lakes region over the past several decades. In 2018, the tug was refitted and joined Margaret in transporting petroleum products.

Today’s cargo highlight is wood pulp. Did you know the wood pulp imported through the Port of Green Bay is mainly eucalyptus pulp from South America? It’s used to make specialty items like absorbent diapers and products like Swiffer duster refills.

The nine-member Brown County Harbor Commission serves as an oversight committee for the Port of Green Bay. The Commission was first established in 1928 but became more actively involved in Port activities in 1956, four years before the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway.
