Here are a few of my favorite photo from shooting a 50-mile running race, the Fall 50, from the tip of the Door County peninsula to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The scenic run takes the participants through a fall color-filled course that winds through tourist-filled quaint small towns, a state park, and along the shores of the bay of Green Bay. The race starts before sunrise with close to 200 solo runners and then four waves of teams of 4 to 5 runners and some teams of two. Most of the solo runners don headlamps to light their way those first few miles as they await daylight. Many of the teams dress up in costumes in an attempt to win the all-important prize for the best costume at the end-of-race party.
As runners make their way across the finish line at Sunset Park in Sturgeon Bay, they usually get together with the rest of their team to revel in the day’s accomplishments. Once across that finish line, they celebrate with a few slices of the 600 pizzas served as music cranks and people hydrate with a few adult beverages.
Thanks for looking!
A favorite from a recent education photo shoot.
A few of my favorite photos from the Green Bay Packers defeating the Houston Texas in the final seconds of their game today at Lambeau Field with a kicker that wasn’t even on their roster a week ago. My favorite shot is probably the one of Alfredo Cintron enjoying a little pre game meal next to his 1950s Packard as the watches a church service on his phone. His wife said he could skip going to church to go to the game, but he had to tune in to the service.
After school basketball game on a warm fall day, shot on a recent education photo shoot.
I've been shooting a lot of portraits recently, but this one if probably my favorite. I’m a big dog lover so the back story is probably why this is my favorite. This is from a recent story I did for American Humane on a retired military service dog being adopted by one of his past handlers. The dog and handler hadn’t seen one another in two years after four years of service together, which included a 10-month deployment in Afghanistan, where they slept together in a small tent in an active combat zone. Thanks to for making this adoption possible and bringing me in to tell the story.
A few of my favorite photos from covering the Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals NFL football game at Lambeau Field yesterday.
Here's the sequence to my previous post of Packers head coach Matt LaFleur.
Usually my favorite shot from covering an NFL football game isn’t an action shot of the head coach, but today it was. This is from a series of shots of Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur arguing a call to the point that he got an unsportsmanlike penalty. I really like coach LaFleur and he sure has a passion for the game.
Here is a link to an Associated Press climate story I worked on recently. I really enjoy working on stories like this and really like how it turned out.
Spring rains destroyed a harvest important to the Oneida people. Farmers are working to adapt On Oneida Nation in Wisconsin, white corn harvests are an important cultural practice. Corn is taken to elders, the husks are dried and braided and seeds are saved for the following season.

Here is my favorite photo from covering today’s Packers vs Ravens preseason football game at Lambeau Field. Baltimore Ravens' Tylan Wallace hitting the pylon for a touchdown as he flies out of bound after a catch and run in front of Green Bay Packers' Zayne Anderson.
I’ve shot this photo before, but I always love the patterns in these top-down drone shots of fieldwork near Denmark, at Old Settler's Dairy.
One of the coolest traditions in all of sports is players from the Green Bay Packers riding young fan’s bikes to training camp. This tradition dates back to the days of Vince Lombardi. Young fans would gather outside the stadium in hopes that a player or coach would pick their bike to ride to the practice field. This year one of the main focuses for the client I covered training camp for was to shoot photos of the fans interacting with the players and coaches. Here are some of my favorite photos from the assignment.
Here is my favorite photo from covering Green Bay Packers training camp today. The story of the day was quarterback Jordan Love returning to the practice field for the first time this training camp after signing a four-year extension worth $220 million. Love now ties Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow in being the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL at $55 million per year. This young fan may be a little to young to get to excited about this high five, but it sure looks like it made his moms day.
Storm clouds moving over Fish Creek Harbor in Door County, Wisconsin. I could get this wide drone view of the harbor by stitching multiple shots together in post-production.
In honor of Cow Appreciation Day here are a few of my favorite cow / calf photos. To all those great cows out there and to all the farmers taking care of them I hope you have a great day.

I've always said, for me to be happy as a photographer I need to shoot a variety of things. This week a client asked me to shoot some product photography for them as part of a bigger project. It was a nice change of pace and the client was happy with the results.
A few more from a great two-week vacation Judy and I took to Germany to visit family. I was born in Germany and still have a lot of family there. Here are a few photos from the time we spent in Berlin. I really liked how these photos look in black and white.
With Plum Island in the foreground and Detroit and Washington Islands behind it, north of the tip of the Door County, Wisconsin peninsula, a storm system moves over the area. The photo is a stitched together photo from a drone to get the wide view.
