Jesse Update May 17, 2024
First things first I have to say thank you to everyone for the love and support our family has received during these past five months. We really could not do it without the positivity and love!
It has been quite a while since my last update. Last update was the end of February when we started chemo here in Green Bay. The chemotherapy he was receiving was made to fight his stage 4 poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (lymph nodes). We did five treatments of that followed by a PET Scan to see results. The results of the PET scan showed no change in the cancer it was made to fight, it did show growth in his lymph nodes instead. A positive from that treatment is that we did see shrinkage in tumors in his lungs and the tumors on his spine went away!
Since that chemotherapy treatment was not doing what it was designed for, his Doctor and us decided the next route to take is to 1: Start a new chemo treatment geared towards fighting the stage 4 Metastatic Colon Cancer (well-differentiated) which started in his colon and spread to his lungs, 2: Get another biopsy of his lymph nodes to see if the cancer there has had any cellular changes, and 3: Start radiation on the lymph node on his neck.
We started the new chemo treatment on April 29 which makes Jesse much more nauseous than the first treatments did. Luckily, it only lasts a few days, and we can control it with medication for the most part. He got his biopsy on the 13th and started radiation the day after. He gets radiation treatments every day for two weeks and he is very tired and out of it due to needing medicine to keep him calm during treatment. It is so hard seeing my best friend going through so much pain, mentally and physically.
With all this being said Jesse has been trying to get back to work and doing activities as much as he can do. We are very appreciative to every one of his clients that have had to deal with last minute rescheduling due to doctor appointment changes or him being ill. Please be patient with him during this time! He is doing his best to fight these cancers!! We all know he is a fighter! F**k Cancer!!!
Now we are at today… I got a call from Jesse’s oncologist here at the Green Bay Bellin and he had the results of the biopsy from last Monday. It shows that it is still the same neuroendocrine cancer in his neck and lymph nodes, which is extremely aggressive. He is going to send the biopsy to mayo to see if they have any comments on if they would do anything differently. We have also been in contact with Mayo Clinic since being back home and they said they would be doing everything the same as the doctors here in Green Bay.
So, if everyone could just do one thing for me, please do whatever you do to send Jesse strength: pray, good vibes, dance around naked!! PLEASE DO IT!! Thank you again to everyone! We love you all and Jesse will NOT stop fighting these cancers!! **kcancer
