Terra's Foster Pet Page
This is a page dedicated to helping foster pets find forever homes. We are located in Green Valley, AZ.
Sharing my new page… This page will be out of commission for a while since I permanently retired as a dog walker and am not in a position to foster with Roma. Hopefully I can successfully rebrand myself and can share a talent that I haven’t really cultivated in a long time.
Super cool clouds on the way home. Helps encourage me more towards my desire to start taking pictures again, even though I only had my cell phone with me. It’s been a pretty rough couple of days. I didn’t get the most favorable advice from the doctor yesterday, previous hobbies. I guess it’s good because it ended my denial that everything is going to be back the way it used to be when I finish physical therapy. In fact, I turned in my “orange” dot key today and just the reality of that was really hard for me. The silver lining is that I bought my new camera earlier, so hopefully I’ll be back to volunteer as a photographer from time to time.
Last doggie of the day was Hercules (A504529), a ten year old senior recovering from Valley Fever. He was so sweet and was just content to lay down and rest, of course receiving love. He is such a gentle soul and needs a quiet place to recover and rest.
Denver (A762572) is a two year old male, but still acts young. He could be calm or he could be spirited and it would alternate. He was a sweet, smart boy, who liked pets and treats, and also knew sit and where the treats were located! Even though he has some energy wanting the treats, he always took them with a soft mouth.
Last pair was Sky (A761192) and Max (A761194). Their numbers are close together, but it doesn’t appear they came together. Sky is the brindle female with the super cool eyes! She’s maybe a year old, so there’s lots of puppy in her still. Max is the brown and white male. He’s about a year old too and has some energy, but isn’t quite as energetic as Sky. He has pretty cool eyes too, with each being a different color. These guys were a lot of fun together and really seemed to like being with each other. They were just difficult to photograph together bc they were so active!!
The next pair was Brownie (A755336) and Puck (A758976). Brownie (the brown one) is a high energy, 3 year old female and Puck (the black one) is an almost two year old shy dog. The partnership seems to work, as Puck was way more confident when he was with Brownie than by himself. They were a pair put together by PACC and are not bonded, but as always, dog introductions are recommended with your resident dogs.
An old favorite of mine, Kisses (A734866), who I guess is really named Kooper, since he knows that name. He’s been in foster and is such a sweetie. He’s another senior and is almost 10 years old, but is still fun and energetic. He actually seems to have calmed down in foster, so that’s great. He was a perfect gentleman and even walked on my left without pulling, like a very good boy!
Mike and I walked some kennel mates, the first of whom were the bonded pair, Toby (A605279) and Madeline (766701). If we didn’t have two dogs already, I’m sure these seniors would be living at our home. Toby has some Golden in him and Madeline is a little dog… so perfect for our preferences! They’re both 11 years old and super sweet. Surely someone has room in their home for these easy going pups…
I got to walk my boy yesterday!! Alec (A707909) has been back at PACC for a while and it’s been longer since he has seen me (or Mike), but he was so happy that I took him out and also that Mike was with us. How could you not love this face?!?
The last pair we walked were the bonded pair Leah (A761381) and Bodhi (A761380). They definitely loved being with each other and wanted treats from whoever was giving them! Leah knew to sit (as did Bodhi, which I saw, but did not experience, since I walked Leah). They were good walkers and sweet puppies. I’m a little confused about whether they need to be adopted together, but since they were listed as being a bonded pair, I would think that means they are looking for a home together.
Update: Patrone got adopted!!
Eliza (A755600) and Patrone (A704406) are two cohoused dogs that I walked with another walker. I walked Patrone (the brown and white male) and the other walker took Eliza (the black female). They were both good at sitting for treats and were strong pullers, but pretty good on the leash. Patrone loved pets and was a really sweet boy.
A762321 - SUAVO was a sweet boy. He knows sit, and is very treat motivated, but took them nicely when directed to. He is a strong boy, but settled nicely during our walk. It broke my heart that he didn’t want to go back to the kennel, so I had to bribe him to get him to walk back.
A756516 - C**T. C**t was a good walker and impressed me immensely when I stopped to talk to another dog walker (at an appropriate distance) and he sat down and waited patiently for me to finish my conversation. He knows sit, lay down, and shake. He was such a gentleman and a good looking fellow.
Update: Otis went to foster!!
A746798 - OTIS was low key dude, a great walker, and was laid back, even when walking in the vicinity of other dogs. I understand he has some kennel reactivity issues, but we avoided that situation and he was super calm. He didn’t seem know sit for me (although it he does for other walkers) and seemed rather aloof during most of our walk, but when I pet him, I saw that he likes affection, and he offered kisses in return.
The next dogs were a pair that I walked with a partner… The female, A534600 - BOOTS (brindle dog), cohoused with a male, A767125 - MANCHAS-(white and tan). Both dogs were really high energy, but that relationship seemed to work for them, as they got along well in the kennel and on the walk. In fact, the other walker took Boots away from Manchas for a short amount of time and he was in a hurry to be back with his friend. Boots (surprisingly due to her energy level) is 6.5 years old and is quite the beauty! Manchas is 2 years old and very playful. He liked treats, but was too energetic to sit for them.
Update: Ballo (Hercules) got adopted!!
From yesterday… A448156 - BALLO (HERCULES) was my first pup of the day. He’s a senior dog, almost 9 years old. He’s been at PACC since October, when his family could no longer take care of him. He had another home after that, but it was short-lived and not the right fit for him. He’s such a sweet old boy. He was a great walker, a lover, knew sit and shake, and loved his treats. I was definitely a fan!!
Update: Penelope went to foster!!
I understand Penelope (A716436) just came back to PACC from foster care. She’s a sweetie with a bum leg, but still able to get around well despite it. She wasn’t interested in my treats or being overly affectionate, but she was interested in smelling me and all the smells outside. She is an older girl with some medical concerns, and definitely would benefit from a home to call her own.
Update: Stitch got adopted!!
This is Stitch (A705443) and he was an absolute sweetheart. He didn’t pull, he loved treats and sat for them. He was so gentle and nice. He’s been at PACC since August for some unknown reason. He seemed sad, which I get for being at PACC for so long, but was otherwise quite the gentleman.
I had to take a break from walking dogs, but since I heard Alec was at PACC for a few days, I just had to go see him. We were only able to hang out for a little while, but he showed me that he remembers all his tricks (sit, shake, lay down) and I got to love on him some. It sounds like he’s doing so well in foster and I know he can’t wait to get back!! Love you buddy!!!
Brogan (A746036) is Otis’ roommate and has been here since July. He is a decompression graduate and is still a little timid, but a sweet boy. He was really interested in my phone, so we got some funny pictures trying to capture him. He loved rolling in the grass and was a loose leash walker.
Update: Otis went to foster!!
This is Otis (A746798) and he’s such a love. He was a great walker and gave the best kisses. Super sweet guy who has been at PACC since June. He’s ready to get out of this place and find his family!!
I walked Warhol once before, but someone said my pictures didnt’t convey how big he is. Here’s a better picture with perspective of 112 pounds of dog! He’s a sweetie and a good walker when away from the kennel and free from distractions!
Another dog that is back after at PACC previously finding a home is Lucian (A727112). He’s just as sweet as ever, but is sad he didn’t get to stay with his new people. I hope that this stay at PACC is shorter than the previous one. He will need a patient family who is willing to work with him on some resource guarding issues.
I learned something new about Wilbur today… We have been going to the play yard to get some energy out before going on our walk. Today, he was running around and started going through the tire tunnels in the play yard. It was so cute. He hung out in one to let me take a picture.
Taz/Rigo was adopted about a month ago, but I learned today that he’s back at PACC and unfortunately, this time he finds himself on a deadline. Taz/Rigo has until October 21st to find a rescue. He’s not available for adoption. There’s a rescue that’s interested in him, but they need a foster commitment to take him.

I just looked up “pink” bc she had something going on with her eye all of a sudden when I brought them back (I’m guessing someone scratched it with them all being in one carrier on the way back). I had to laugh when I saw her picture…. It’s perfect!! She’s definitely my favorite! Her name is Noir and she’s A757622.
Today is my last day with the kitties… they will go back to PACC today, as planned, so I can go to Texas tomorrow. It’s sad bc they’re just getting to be fun!! I’m kinda ready to get rid of mama (she thinks she knows everything, doesn’t particularly care for my help, and feels every bit of the food is for her), but she’s been an amazing mom to her babies!! I know she’s going to find a great home!!
The babies are impossible to photograph or video, but they’re so cute to play with. Unlike mom (who just loves me for the food), the kittens come running when I come in the room and want to be with me. I’m gonna miss them!!!
I wasn’t able to walk dogs long today, so I walked repeats and didn’t take pictures. However, this guy was in the volunteer office when I arrived and I wanted to just hang out with him or bring him home!! This is Bison (A757017) and I absolutely fell in love with him immediately. He’s a smaller-ish dog (the notes say he’s 45 pounds, but I guess that’s girth). He had a broken leg and I also read someone hit him in the head with a pipe because he was attacking another dog. I just don’t see this guy having that personality, but here he is… He’s such a sweetie and love, definitely craving attention.
We are mushing!!!! Thank goodness bc they were getting active and not gaining. The biggest problem right now is mama trying to eat it (and kittens reaching deep in the bowl). I guess there will be supervised feeding!! The littlest (Teal, the one without a collar) is going to town!!
I bought this at PACC the other day!! It’s perfect!! Roma disagrees, but that’s okay… She generally does.
Last, but definitely not least, Warhol (A745789)-112 pounds of pupper!! He’s been here since June and this is the first time I’ve walked him. It’s interesting to read his notes, as it shows me he’s changing being stuck at PACC for so long. He was always big and strong, but he used to not be reactive walking through the kennels, but now he is. However, while he’s vocal, he’s a great walker once you’re away from the kennels, as is often the case. He likes treats, but didn’t sit for them yet, but he will learn!! He’s a good looking boy and a perfect gentleman away from the kennel. He’s been here so long that he really needs a one-way ticket out!!
